2009 Heineken Cup Semi Final. Munster were the best team in Ireland and the defending champions but the tide was turning on us. Watching them win and him running up to O'Gara to jeer him on the ground felt like the end. Not bitter at him for it, O'Gara could be mouthy as a player, but it's always stuck with me how bad it felt.

As a kiwi i'd just say that every country has their own fair share of braindead punters, both professional and non, but at the end of the day we should not let their rage baiting chat taint our views of the general public of our respective nations because at the end of the day we all love the game, and once you truely learn to love the game you are able to see past your own biases and appreciate players based on their true ability rather than just their national colours. With that said Reiko was 100% correct, Sexton was an absolute grub his whole career, worse than Coles or McCaw. Enjoy your retirement...

I believe it would be interesting to look back at the pre-professional era where cameras were not watching every corner of the pitch. When conflict occurred as it always does in a competitive contact sport such as rugby, people would come to blows. Things were taken out in the rucks whereas now everyone is being closely watched, rugby players have had to learn to control their emotions, you punch you are red carded. But conflict will still be there and unfortunately the media and public treat the conflict as something that it’s not. In rugby we may fight on the pitch but always have a beer together off it. The media and public need to appreciate that

I love how Johnny Sexton is smart enough to realise that you don't just walk into a coaching job with no experience. Yet they gave Leo Cullen an assistant coach role with no experience and made him head coach the following season. Our coaching system is so F***** stupid the reality is that Johnny Sexton would easily walk into Leinster and be given the keys to everything within a very short space of time regardless of his coaching ability. It happened with Paul O'connell and his terrible lineout cost us a world cup, its been happening with Leo Cullen every year since 2019 and we refuse to do anything about it. WHO you are is all that matters.

@@stephenonolan4298 The lineout was bad in 5 of Irelands world cup games...so YES! undoubtedly. And on Leo Cullen, he told the best Lock in the world he wasn't good enough to play for Leinster. A Lock, the same position Leo Cullen himself played. That player went on to win man of the match every week for Scarlets and now captains Munster. Also, Were it not for Andy Farrels vastly superior selections Luke McGrath and Ross Byrne would be starting today. Leo had no clue as to Gibson Parks usefulness and has now only selected Frawley due to sheer outside pressure. Frawley is 26 and because of Leo will never be an Irish great. It's already too late for him.

in fairness he will probably go into coaching and his wife has made a lot of sacrifices I would say he will work that job for a few years and then go into a coaching it would be a waste if he didn't.

Hard for great players to get into coaching... They can't related to the struggles sometimes of someone less talented, because they were able to do it... Whatever IT is easily as a great player, so they get frustrated, as an American we have countless examples of former great players who tried coaching and got frustrated... That's why hard working, playing above your ability former players make great coaches.

Really like the guy and such a good player. He did call out the no dick heads policy in the ABs and side swipe the entire team. Seemed to be swept aside here. They talk about what goes on the field stays on the field. Really?

Ya, what goes on the field stays on the field? Rieko Ioane wanted to bring in the whole Irish support that day on what happens on the field. I don't think they had words with him. Can't talk, dude. Classless move, so don't throw stones without a few bouncing back at you.

@@corryf-eq6nz BS, this guy challenges the entire ABs culture because of one reaction - typical on-the-field stuff (mostly by the Irish in recent years and esp. him, by his own admission). He's a baby and doing it to sell books - and on the podcast, he passes it off as "I didn't think it would get a reaction ". He's the wanker.

Just waiting for a saffa to eventually complain. If anyone thinks sexton is gonna cry over all the money he will make and has made. Or anyone who calls him average.. you all have medical grade delusion. I found Johnnies complaining to be annoying at some times but I also find South Africans constant positive doping tests to be annoying.
