Cole is telling a difficult story about combat - interview guy with the slick hair cuts in to ask if they've both been shot after hearing DJ's story about being shot in his plate/mag (?) Or, maybe don't crack your energy can open when a war veteran is recalling a difficult mission? DJ gave him a death look and neck wrench when that happened. Then you ask them if they've ever lost anyone due to combat? Were you listening to their stories? GBRS kept it pro as usual, but this was a tough listen/watch. Missed opportunity. Even DJ regurgitating the big Navy narrative of Lone Survivor Recce team getting into some knarly firefight full of heroics. In reality, the first two Seals were downed in the first few seconds, Luttrell threw down his rifle and ran leaving the last one to fight and retreat only to die seven days later dehydrating to death. Had Luttrell not been such a liar when the Rangers found him, Axelson would’ve came home ALIVE. While brave men to enter a combat zone on our behalf, Luttrell lied about every minute of it.
@Pacho-d4l4 ай бұрын
Lutrell ran away from the fight. Also, it has essentially been confirmed that they were ambushed by 8-12 taliban and not hundreds as he claimed. He was recovered with all of his mags and then tried to screw the afghan guy who saved him

the 2 who actually fought there asses off were axelson and DJ's wifes deceased first husband, Daniel Dietz. God rest all there souls, its just fuxkin crazy how people still try to make it seem like ALL of them are legitimate heroes that were ambushed by 80-100 fighters and stood there ground to the very end when theres mountains of proof/evidence/facts that proves that narrative false.
@Taffy33 ай бұрын
@danielcampbell9457 Yep. I wasn’t going to go into a lot of detail but you’re spot on. If you watch the Taliban video, you hear them refer to the guy who immediately ran away. That was Luttrell. You can also hear one of them screaming for Luttrell to help. You said it was Deitz. I wasn’t sure if it was him or Murphy who died almost immediately and which one fought his ass off. To make matters worse, had Luttrell not lied to the Rangers who found him, Axe would probably still be alive today. It was determined that Axe was alive for 2-3 days after Luttrell was found. Instead of taking them into the area hoping for a miracle, he just told the Rangers they were in fact all dead. That wasn’t the case. So instead of a sh*t load of bada** Rangers bringing hell to bear to find Axe, they waited and went when they had bigger, more prepare search party. Axe died. Luttrell not only ran away from ambush leaving his brothers to be slaughtered, he again abandoned his brother Axelson when he covered up the truth. Then he came home and pushed a false narrative to make money. One can only hope he shared my bet with the families of the fallen. Look, I’ll not sit here and jump on a Luttrell for running away. The only people with that right are people who have been in similar ambushes and stood up and fought. I will sh*t on him for all the lies he told afterwards. Disgusting. As for DJ, I’m not sure I have an opinion on him marrying a Gold Star wife as I’m not in position to cast judgement there either. What I do know is a lot of bad happened that day and the days after that did not have to happen. Such an unfortunate story.
@danielcampbell94573 ай бұрын
@@Taffy3 everything you said is correct, and as far as DJ marrying Daniels widow, im personally fine with that because DJ by literally all accounts of every operator whos worked with him operationally give him high praises and he took his dream and allegdlly Daniels dream of making it to devgru and achieved it. Only thing thats kind of unforgiveable by most is DJ cheating on his wife and putting her to the back burner for so long ESPECIALLY after everything she had already been thru, BUTTTT the most important part is that SHE forgave DJ, she may never forget the hurt and disrespect but she ultimately forgave him and apparently there relationship is better now then its ever been. If i ever died in combat knowing that i chose to live and hopefully die a warrior then id want nothing more than a respected, reputable operator from my unit, personal team battle buddy or just a dam good soldier to eventually wed my widow and treat her right. anyways all thats beyond then point, but you're 100% correct sir.

Small nitpick, but theres like a "wind" or background sound, I don't know if its because this is not your guys main office, just something I noticed. Pretty good conversation

I never knew about his relationship with his family like that. Because when you see Don Shipley's content he always talks about him like theyre close
