First saw DJ Shipley's story on Shawn Ryan's podcast. That production, plus his ability to tell a story, was absolutely captivating. His dedication to being the best of the best, through his trials and tribulations was incredibly inspiring. I'm super happy to see him continually succeed and wish him and everyone at the GBRS Group, nothing but success.

Proud to say I met DJ Jr. at the Danny Dietz memorial fund raiser two years ago. There were several hellacious warriors in attendance that night. I could listen to these stories all night long! Cheers Brother!

FIrst heard of this incredible warrior on the Shawn Ryan show and instantly became a HUGE fan. My father was a SDV operator with UDT 21/23 at LItlle Creek. Once he got off the teams he became a firefighter at LC and 29 years later retired as a Battalion Chief. After many years of being bored and getting tired of my mom, he became a Park Ranger at Northwest River State Park right outside of Great Bridge. He had NUMEROUS interactions at the park with his father Don when he was doing his training stuff with young hopeful future SEALS. All interactions were super cool... Frogman to Frogman connection. Anyways, you guys are the real deal and I appreciate all the amazing and informative content that you guys put out. Keep up the good work and Happy Holidays.

DJ is by far my favorite military person to listen to and I served in. 3/75th so I love Nick and the SOB but something about him…. Fuck I wish I knew about his dad’s school before I enlisted I might have went the Navy route. I always wanted to try SWCC and with more confidence in the water I would have went for it. But DJ if you happen to see this, thank you for the videos and putting your life out there for the rest of us struggling with what the GWOT did to us over 15 years or more. RLTW

Hey Mr Shipley, just a huge thank you for your service to this country, and to all of you warriors who serve this country! I’m old now and was never able to serve in the military as I was too wrecked before I was even 17 years old, and to be honest now- wasn’t tough enough to make it anyway. I thought I was a tough person until I was electrocuted 6 years ago at work. I’m not! Every fear I’ve ever worked through throughout my life came to an abrupt explosion at the moment I woke up from the injury. I was a scared little child from that point on. I’m now 61 and trying like never before to get back to where I was before the injury. Hearing yours and others stories is inspiring for sure, but I’m still a coward, still afraid of everything. What do you think of and how do you deal with your fears? I know everybody has fear of something, I now have a granddaughter that is going to need a gramps to learn from. Her mommy & daddy are awesome, a grampy should be special, you know? Thank you again, I look up to y’all! God bless

In my opinion bro you gotta try to face them as much as you can The more you face your fear the smaller they become I totally get you, I have a gigantic dream of going special forces and recently had to face my water fear when starting to swim And every time I do a swim workout I can literally feel that I’m getting mentally stronger from facing my fear head on. I feel like I’m starting to realize the only thing to do is to just face the fucking fears when you have the opportunity to because it’s the only thing that’s gonna move you forward Mahalo🤙 keep working hard💪

As crazy as that phone story is… I hate to admit it but I’ve “kind of” done the same thing. It was about 3 years ago. I was regular Army, not a combat job. I was a Spc and one day we were doing some bullsh*t classroom training. My 1SG was giving a little brief and I got a call from my SSG. I cannot explain to you to this day WHY I ANSWERED THE PHONE. I was standing in the back kind of in a corner and when I answered it I kind of turned and started whispering. There was about 20 people in the room and in the middle of talking my 1SG stopped and said “hey man!? What the hell are you doing!?!? Take that shit outside!?” In that exact moment I had an overwhelming rush in my brain of “I am the dumbest motherfuc*er in the world” and hurried outside. As I walked out the door he was staring at me with hands up laughing in disbelief. Probably the most embarrassed and dumb I have ever felt. After all the training was done I went to his office and apologized to his face and told him I was really stupid and was extremely disrespectful. He was like “lol yeah man, if it was anyone else it would’ve ended a lot different”. My 1SG was retiring within that year and him and I were already pretty cool at that point thankfully. Couple months later we were going through covid-19 training and he came up to sit next to me and was like “hey what’s up Rhizor” so we ended up being cool lol but that was a crazy day 😂

Robbing that guy of his trident simply because he answered the phone is unbelievably petty and not a good use of the navy's resources. You have a guy who the navy just spent millions of dollars making SEAL qualified and ur going to boot him out over an answered phone call? Instructors were morons.
