Number of years back I had a CH-47 fly over my shop a week before Christmas. Went out to see what all the racket was knowing it was a Chinook only to see him circle around and make an approach to land. Grabbed my DLSR and got some great pics of the landing, handshakes, hugs and then watched them leave. I think the pilot's dad was a bailiff of the courts and this would be the only time they could see each other before heading east. They were heading to Hunter Airfield to load up for Afghanistan and made this pitstop.

The lights are interesting. I would catch cartel drug smugglers if I had NODS. They would drive stolen trucks and SUVs and remove every light source. If it was a dark night they would hang out of truck for illuminating the dirt road, keeping the light as close as possible to the ground. Anyway I would set sensors up to establish a pattern. Once enough good intel I could write out an op plan and get to fishing. Interesting show.

If you listen to the account of those who went in after and also watch the over 17:00 min video of Shah's team ambushing Murphy, Luttrell, Dietz, and Axelson, you will know there was no way the four SEALS were going to make it out of there alive. They had them in a 360 pin, from elevated positions. Tony Brooks said when he saw the battlefield he was astonished that anyone ever made it out alive. I saw the interview with one of the Apache pilots who was tasked with escorting the Chinooks on the first rescue attempt. What's shown in the movie is that the pair of chinooks that went into conduct the first rescue attempt and over the raido they hear that the Apaches that were assigned to them to divert and go to another mission. Then in the interview with one of the Apache pilots said that as he was escorting the Chinooks he had to communicate with an A 10 that was circling above so they could communicate with the Apaches. He was trying to tell the first Apache pilot to slow down bc at the altitude they were flying at the Apache couldnt keep up with the Chinooks and that he had to clear the landing zone first and the Chinooks could go in to insert the rescue teams. The pilot of that Chinook basically said he didn't care and that they were going in anyways and that you guys (Apache pilots can clear the landing zone when you get here). Then of course after that the Chinook gets to the crash site and its shot down. Afterwards the Apaches showed up and basically had to watch the chinook burn.

for anyone who doesnt know what BAT 21 is look it up, the story its nuts. It shows just how far the military would go to make sure someone with important info doesnt fall into enemy hands. The man responsible for getting Iceal Hambleton the downed aircrewman back to safety was a navy SEAL named Tommy Norris and a vietnamese SEAL equivalent named Nguyễn Văn Kiệt. They dressed up like vietnamese fisherman and took a small boat down a river past enemy lines to where hambleton and another pilot who was shot down trying to rescue hambleton were hiding and got them the hell outta there. Norris was awarded the medal of honor for this. On Halloween 1972 Norris was shot in the head by an AK round but managed to survive thanks to his teammate Michael E Thornton who was awarded the MoH for saving basically the entire team and swimming miles dragging Tommy and a vietnamese teammate after fighting for hours and taking large amounts of shrapnel to the back and legs. Its funny seeing them in interviews together because Thornton is a giant of a man and Norris is tiny in comparison, its like looking at spike and tyke from the old tom and jerry cartoons

Sadly, Marcus ran, got shot in the ass, and returned with the 11 mags he left with. His teammates begged him to come back. The fact he’s made millions, is a real gut punch to the real hero’s who lost their lives that day. Axe was possibly alive a few days considering his location once found on the 10th of July. But Marcus said everyone was dead, so they ended up slow rolling the recovery, possibly causing Axe’s life. Deep allegations, but these are from team members that’s rescued Marcus.
@chaselittle2601
@chaselittle2601 2 күн бұрын
Bro. He had 11 mags because his dying team mates gave them to him. He definitely would’ve taken Danny deitz magazines after Danny was killed. Also Mike Murphy gave him his remaining magazines because he know he was going to be killed getting the phone call off. As to axe, he was shot in the face and his eyes and face was gone down to his jaw. If I saw someone like that in the middle of nowhere blind with taliban on your ass I’d put my money on the guy being dead. Especially if you’re separated in combat. Everyone acts like this was Marcus first mission and his first gunfight and he had no training and got scared and ran away. You would run away in training and quit long before you get to combat. Yea he probably did run away because his team was basically wiped out and down was the only way to go. The end of the day if we weren’t on that mountain we should all shut the f up.

He’d fired less than two mags. Every time a SEAL stubs a tow it’s life and death. Their promo machine is flawless. If only their ops were as good.

They got smoked by like a dozen dudes in sandals or shoeless. Marcus ran and left his guys to die. It was all propaganda dude didn’t even fire a shot. The more you dive into this story the more crazy embarrassing details emerge
