Yuel went from a low-ish damage pressure monster that was hard to pin down... to an OK damage, low reward 50/50 mixer that is highly succeptible to random DP... OOOOOOOOFFF!

They changed her identity, so she no longer is a salsa master, but she's learning to waltz

I’m gonna miss td.5M so much. Yuel is not a high damage character, but on crouch she can link c.5H into 22H and do c.5H again which is a massive increase in damage. Because td.5M forced crouch, if you ever hit it you got a really big combo by exiting stance and linking c.L into c.H. A 14F overhead is very nice, but it being -6 with only 1300 damage doesn’t feel like it’s enough, especially with Auto Parry’s main utility gone. I still really love Yuel but I’m not sure I like this version nearly as much.

I think the idea with the fH change is to improve its utility as a higher reward counterpoke and whiff punish tool, not as a poke. Thats how I used fH before this patch anyways. Might be to match its animation where she reels back before doing it.

If her overhead was -3 I’d be down to stick with her. And if the parry still kept its DP counter properties I’d still play her. They took too much power away from the stance that it makes her into a bad djeeta with no fireball

The stance is so bad now that I really don’t want to use it, the stance had an auto counter for a reason you can’t block, roll, crouch, special and supers. And how the counter works now is really bad, I have issues countering anything consistently

One thing that stance can do better now is, if you hard read opponent going to do brave counter on your stance hit like 2M now you can press parry after 2M and parry the brave counter.

As a Grand master yuel player i can say arcsys murder my little foxy girl, now Yuel sucks , i play her since old granblue but they kill her stance gameplay, autocounter helped him in a lot of match ups because you could stop a bunch of special moves for example: Beelzebub dive kick Gran jump kick Charlotta spin Soriz lariat Ladiva lariat Vaseraga shoulder attack Both zeta spear attack ( ground and air ) Six wall jump Lucilus air teleport Katalina charge attack etc etc Before the patch you can do stance dance meaty 2m or U foxflame into nothing to bait Brave counter and punish with the autocounter but now..... The stance 5M change was criminal they give a useless overhead that doesn't do anything by itself?? even in counter hit it's hard to confirm into a combo bruh maybe it's time to switch to another character i really like Yuel but for me is unplayable in her current state.

I think Eye of the Sparrow was supposed to be able to block multi-hit attacks as well but they didn't patch it very well. I had time to experiment, and I have punished DPs that weren't multi-hits, so I think this was something they overlooked with it and might need to be patched. It can counter SSBAs too, Gran's SSBA counts as a Projectile so you can't counter it with the parry. (Learned that the hard way) Now my personal opinions, I do feel Yuel has been improved a bit and I do like some of the changes done to Dance. For me, I never relied on it that much for pressure because my opponent would always turtle up and find a DP chance or just brave counter me away, or even play patiently and pop a super. So for me, Dance hasn't really changed all that much. The Overhead does feel nice to have even if I can't combo off it. It's at least a damage option and can trip up the opponent pretty nicely and the chip damage really pressures them into a making a mistake since they wouldn't want that to either finish them or give them unneeded damage, no matter how small. And I especially been having fun chaining combos with Ultimate Fox Fire. XD I am actually enjoying some of her changes. Still gotta get used to the manual parry but overall, I am kind of happy with her.

I was acually super excited for Yuel's buff when I saw the patch notes. The buffs to the U skills are good, especially the 22U change (combined with the stance 2H change now she gets max damaged of of grounded 22U confirms wich before was crouch only), the thing i was the most excited about tho were the stance changes tho from the looks of it I thought they were gonna acually fix a big issue the character used ti have: people blocking. Belive it or not spamming plus frames doesn't mean it's easy opening people up (especially with a 24 frame start-up throw), the chip damage, the gurren changes all seemed very promising. As for what I though of the stance 5M Parry I was acually pretty intrested too, I thought to myself sure the Ovrehead is unsafe but at least the groundbounce is gonna give me a full combo even on regular hit right ? And the parry will prolly loose to supers but still beat dps right ? Boy was I wrong. I really don't get wat's the point of a 1300 damage overhead and a parry that only gives you a combo on air ch when now your 2H in stance is buffed. Seems they took the vanilla route and decided to make her stance much worse for some goddamn reason.

I can't comment much on the viability of the character but I can say that she feels pretty terrible to play now. Stance just feels bad. Hopefully it's something I'll get used to but I'm not very hopeful at the moment.

By the way, PS5 has less input delay than PS4. At worst its maybe less than 2 frames, and at best it rivals PC.

People complaining about the changes but once a Yuel finishes a juggle with her dp and the camera moves so high enough that you've no clue what she's about to do once you hit the floor haven't felt the terror of getting hit by her overhead right at the end of the move with you not being able to react at all because you couldn't see the startup happen.

You should not feel any terror getting hit by a move that only does 1300 damage. At 14 frames you can't even react to it, so reacting shouldn't be on your mind. Just take the hit, block low, and pay attention to their pressure habits. Once you see an opening to DP, BC, or poke out, take it. It's like taking the throw, only it does half the damage of a throw.

@@Sylnic You know what? You are right. I am often paired against two Master Rank Yuels and I was having a hard time against them because of all this overthinking. I'm actually reacting to some of the overheads now and getting decent punishes and when the aforementioned situation happens I just block low and take the overhead if need be. It's still their turn but at least I can see what is going on an plan my turn.

Many people are doomposting about the stance, there is no way that an unreactable overhead should combo normally on-hit without meter, it would be way too good. We already gained better midscreen conversion with 22U, which was one of her biggest weakness, and we can easily spam meter to do a corner to corner combo... The issue is more that the oki situation after a succesful overhead is weird, the timing to loop your offense isn't smooth and so it doesn't make it feel "good" as much as it could. The parry change I understand as baiting DP for free was unique but also maybe not what they wanted to follow the core philosophy of the game, we can now parry low which is great but the active frame are very limited and there is not much reward on hit. I don't think her stance is "bad", I think they just were too cautious about making her stance stronger. Making parry better on hit and making her overhead non counter hit feel better to set-up okizeme would go a long way for her. Or they can just make it that the ground bounce combo from light dp/some shit like this. Like short combo to activate the dopamine. Like I hate the ferry doomposting/whining but she was a low tiers so I get her buff didn't feel enough (and even if her nerf are nothing, it is the principle), but yuel player acting like we got shot in the back are crazy. It is just very different and they didn't went ham. I guarantee you that yuel is top tiers BS if her overhead can do high dmg combo on normal hit, no way it should be allowed under the pretext it is unsafe on block.

No way it should be allowed? Belial 2m is + on block low that give you a combo. Unreactable overhead that gives you a combo will give her a natural 50/50 in the stance. Which is strong, but okay if punishible. And parry nerf should've additonaly conpensate for it. You go all in when you are in stance. But some thing went wrong. Why would you risk eating full combo, for 1K dmg reward? Also her parry is objectivly worst in the game. Have almost half duration then any other, and still can't parry for shit. I mean you can pick only one, if you want the move to see play.

i think you're misunderstanding the problem. it's not that Yuel is bad, far from it this is strictly improvement, the problem is that it came at the cost of the character we played. nobody wanted TD5M to be overhead. it was a meme that everyone knew would be too much. if all the changes we got were the changes to regular stance and the only change to TD was the added chip we would be over the moon. if i wanted to play high low mix there are better options. i feel like i no longer have a character

@@АнатолийКнязьков-р6я Did you compare a fucking low to an overhead? Especially on the top tiers character that people protest about aka not the norm and more like the outlier? Parry need to be more rewarding but no way in hell should her overhead combo for high damage, you are tripping hard.

@@nevrankroatonI agree with your statement above the only thing I don’t agree with is mainly her overhead I don’t think she really needed it as she had pretty good strike through mix within stance since her hop during her grab snuffs lows however having the overhead doesn’t really do much and I much prefer her mid that forced crouch into a 5L 5H string which punished you for also trying to low her from her low and jabs it gave her good reward for making them frustrated now we are in a situation where once you fight one yuel in stance you basically fought them all with some variations in timing if you disagree I welcome it and hope I am wrong but as far I see having a overhead in stance doesn’t mean we should nerf her parry as compensation when in a game where most dps either 2 hit or are pretty fast ontop of worrying about when a player will just either dp or raw super or grab or brave counter you don’t get many chances to think about it during a heated game in the higher ranks and your nerves can very much get the better for yuel is working alot harder to keep you in the corner chip damage in my opinion makes it worse as people will now see there health get low and risk of dying to chip will cause them to mash super or brave or dp yuel has a certain bait for brave counters but it’s very hard to die as you have to know they will do it so over all I think she is one of the bigger losers of a patch the U changes are nice and the willingness of going into stance on all U stances are appreciated but as it stands she is a character that requires harder reads then other characters and has to fight alot harder to keep you locked down in a corner and just against certain characters will fumble pretty hard while others she will wall but over all everyone recieved such big buffs and will over all make her life a living hell for quite some time
