I have a 2013 GS and I agree with your review. This car is a thrill to drive especially in the mountains. I see a few post that say they would like more "punch" for $42k and I say go drive one before you make a mistake and purchase a German car. The maintenance alone jacks up the total cost of ownership. Disclosure; this is my 2nd Regal GS with the 1st (2011) made in Germany and I shopped, reviewed, and drove all comparable cars ( BMW 3, Mercedes C300, Audi A4, Infinti G35, VW Passat, Acura, and Lexus ) and still came back to the GS. Extremely happy I did.

This is one of the few reviews i like. My biggest problem with the GS is the price. I think too many little details heat and cooled seats, auto deeming external mirrors, were left out. I refuse to associate them with cost management. If KIA can come up with power folding exterior mirrors, i really cannot explain why the Buick engineers decided to omit something like that. No doubt it is a great car but, I'm finding it hard to justify with this price. Had they packed the cars with luxurious features like those, the sale numbers would have been better. i'm the the NYC area and I'm still yet to spot one on the roads. I must admit, that was a great and unscripted review. Good job. I am a disciple.

I just bought my wife a 2011 CXL, leather, loaded, and I like the controls/gauge cluster more in my 2011 than I do in the 2016. Also, with 20K on it paying only 13K for it, it was a bargain and we love the car. I would recommend, if you want one of these beauties, just be patient and buy used and save a ton!

Great video Greg. I love the Regal myself, but for $42,000 I'd want something with even more punch (especially with the GS "performance" trim level). I think they should put the 3.6L V6 with AWD; that would be an excellent combination in terms of performance and economy. Other than that, I would take this car in a heartbeat, Buick's masterpiece IMO. Two questions though, what camera's and video editor do you use?

I bought my 2012 Regal GS in 2017 for $12500, roughly a third of the original sticker. Mine is the same color, and a stick, of course, but I don't have all the fancy new tech, which is fine with me. I've put 55K miles on it, and replaced the timing chain, turbo and a few other expensive repairs (like a HID headlight), but it's been fairly worry free and a bunch of fun to drive. My last three cars were all BMW coupes, but I swear this Buick handles almost as well. Oh, and the big factory rims were replaced with 18's so I have more sidewall and a better ride.

Nice video Greg!! I love my new 2016 Regal GS AWD. Got it for 5,500 off msrp. These cars are a steal! So I'm looking at 36/37k for an awesome car. Comparably equipped 335i, A4, or Jag XE is over 50k. This car is amazing and it is a no brainer to buy under for well under 40k. Fantastic car!! Thanks for the review, I'm having fun in the new ride!

jayhawk frank hello what type of fuel do you use ? avg mpg ? Thank u so much.
@btownjhawk8 жыл бұрын
I use premium along with a can of Royal Purple octane boost per tank. The way I drive, (lead footed) my average is 19 in mostly rush hour city/highway stop and go traffic. Good mpg on the open highway tho.. around 30 when i get the chance. Given that it is a really heavy car with the AWD system I'm happy with those numbers. I almost always drive in Sport mode too.

Also, with winter coming, I slapped on a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 255/35ZR20s and they are amazing. Just as good grip as with the Pirelli P Zeros plus all season coverage. Nice. And the Brembo brakes are performing as expected... fantastic.

I have a 2017 GS and I like to say I LOVE IT....... Everything he said is true. It feels like it has more horsepower than what it is rated for. And yes it literally pulls you back in the seat when you accelerate hard. One thing he forgot to mention is there is a G force sensor you can pull up on the center instrument cluster. And it is faster than the Lexus IS250.

I traded my 2012 Regal Premium II for a 2017 GS, nearly identical to the one in the video. Although this 5th generation Regal is about to be replaced, i catch people admiring it and some ask me what car it is.
@Trades467 жыл бұрын
The Regal GS feels a bit overpriced at the segment it competes in and the weight is definitely a factor, but the value proposition vs. the 3 Germans (and I argue even against Lexus & GM stablemate Cadillac) is great. As a luxury everyday car with a hint of sportiness, I think the Regal GS is great. I just wish it was a tad lighter & around $5k less. Lastly, I wished it has ~20hp more given the GS badging (reminiscence of the late 90s).

Traded in my 2012 Regal Premium II for a 2017 GS last month and no regrets and did not even consider a European brand. I just don't care about looking like another swarmy twat driving a 3-series. I think the GS bodystyle has aged much better than the other trim levels over the last 7 years of this generation. This car needs cooled seats and fog lamps and the HID headlamps are really nice, but they need swivel with steering input like they do on the LaCrosse. This car is a blast to drive and turns heads. You don't see many of these on the road and I don't mind. I've had several people ask me what make of car I'm driving.

Hi....liked your review and it is a very accurate one. I own 2012 6 spd manual and frankly it is a lot of fun to drive. Many a 3 series has been surprised by the handling and the pickup (40-80 in this thing is a blast) I owned an A4 for 5 years before this and frankly I prefer the GS as far as ownership experience and fun for the money. It is a bit of a GT car when asked. Anyway I am letting you know your taste is just fine and with more 3 series then Camry's on the road these days driving this is kinda unique in its own way.
