My ears perked up when you mentioned mowing twice in the same direction before rotating. I mowed 4 directions last year, but only once per turn. Looking forward to trying out the 2-times per turn to get a better stripe on that 2nd mow!

Oh man, my Hubby took too long for the first cut and we had 74 bags of just straight clippings. Two acres of flat gorgeous land with a riding mower and catch baskets(3) hanging off the back. That was a lot of work I tell ya. I'm the weed eating girl so I hit them edges around the fences. Weed eating, I love it. Now, I'm gonna do the yard mowing because I want the fancy stripes and the yard is growing about three inches a week right now...I'm just all giddy ready to do this. !!!! Thx Man, great video

March 5th and FINALLY it's mow time. I know that's early for a lot of the northern brethren but for me I'm starting to lose my mind by now. Got out the Toro Flex 21 and cut the putting green, got the Swardman (which I'm replacing, don't like it one bit) out to do the fringes and the fairway, and even got the fescue done. The Swardman, in my humble opinion, is not a great mower. I really bought it for the cartridge system and yes I do like the simplicity of it. Unfortunately, the cut at .400" is just not that good. At .500" or above, it's better but below that half inch height the quality goes down.

Just found you on KZbin, thank you for knowledge. This is the second or third video to night that I've watched and I'll watch a bunch more tonight. Question , I'm in the upstate of South Carolina , Greenville. I'm suppose to have a centipede lawn but it's got everything else with it. I watched a video tonight to Identify 21 weeds. Of those 21 weeds , I had them all. I started working on this lawn last year.its gotten better but what I would love to do is go to Turf type tall Fescue. How can I do this without scraping my lawn or using a box blade. Can it be over seeded With fescue? Sorry this is long . Thanks again for your time and videos. , Don
@donwat915 жыл бұрын
@Gary Barlow Gary , take it easy man. It's not the end. Some people say Toemato some people say tomato. Some like there lawns striped and some don't. You would have loved the way our yards were maintained as I was growing up. There was no grass. If you saw a piece of grass coming up someone would have yanked it up. They ranked there yard or used a broom to sweep it.Then the lawn mower came out for the normal working people.Which today is a Billion dollar business. The more grass grows the less weed you have. I like the stripes.my mother is more like you , she wants to see the dirt. She wants her monies worth when she pays someone to cut it. Then I explained to her the weeds and now she's happy about having stripes in her yard. Hello, don't blow a gasket , enjoy the stripes in your lawn , your wife may like it to. Happy wife , happy life.

Tamecka Craig height is as important with Bermuda grass since it’s a tougher plant. Yes. Bermuda can be striped as well

All in all a very good video, and granted a bright sun would have shown it off better. I enjoyed the video, and learned a few things in the process. I have this much mowing simply to maintain a green belt around my buildings, because I live out in the county and I am surrounded by farm fields. It is my first line of defense against a raging field fire. I mow about 2 acres total that is broken up into several areas that are essentially hay fields with mixed grasses and timothy, and I have no choice but to change the pattern all the time, sometimes chris crossing the yard, sometimes mowing in circles, and then back and froth, a different pattern every time. and then cleaning the deck, and attending to the blades. Even in the heat of summer, there is enough moisture in the clippings to make them stick to the deck. Worse of course when it is wet.
