Just another note The Driveshafts on most fords have a floating circlip that snaps in to the gearbox so rotating the shaft will allow it to centralize with a slight jemmy out! Defo not a 7lb sledge hammer! I am very glad you sorted the vibration out as it will be such a pleasure to drive now! The lower arms do wear quite bad on these but again rule of a good mechanic attach arms whilst in the air and then torq up once full weight is on the suspension otherwise the bushes at the front of the arms will not be centralized! then once all done get a 4 wheel alignment done ! I am very pleased you sorted it out I am pleased for you!

Shot for the video my bud. Bought my ST 2 weeks ago and have had a shake at 20miles then it goes away and comes back at about 100+. Sending mine in tomorrow for driveshafts so hope that cures the vibration. Got OEM ones from rates ford "re engineered" ones. Im not running big power and will try take it easy in 1st and 2nd hopefully they last. According to the guys at dreamscience they rated the oem(even though they refurbished) over there S9 which they have on special at the moment. So fingers crossed. Thanks for the videos dude.

vibration problems with driveshafts start when you lower the focus st/rs that have done 20/30 000 miles or so due to the tripod bearings wearing a groove in the cup. lowering changes the bearings angle in the cup so they catch the groove instead this is the vibration, it happened to me when i lowered mine at 48000 miles.

@@tracktimevideos5164 really depends upon your budget. Can replace the full engine. Have your block linered with Westwood forged steel liners and forged rods and pistons or even mk2 focus rs rods and pistons. (see my KZbin video 1000 BHP engine). You could have just the one liner replaced but this is highly uncommon practise and would cost more in labour and machining than a replacement engine. Dude I know this an old video. I’ve been watching your vids on the vibration wobble and I know it was your driveshafts. But before I go spend some serious £s on genuine driveshafts is your vibration wobble in lower gears and worse at slightly lower revs as you accelerate through the gears? Just bought one and is a stage 2 but feels like it’s gonna shake to bits at certain rpm? Hope you see this and can help please dude. Other than that love my new st they are the nuts

au contrare pal. id drive anywhere to find an engineer with a proven ability to diagnose first time with a spin about and get his thoughts on how it feels. a mechanic can assume the same process of elliminating the smaller parts at my expence until he hits the jackpot through mathematics not his wisdom gained like our birmingham guy. an engineer with an interest in motor cars would do his job with an approach to detail your local mechanic could not reach mearly swapping a part for part the diagnostics tell them to. An engineer would solve his problems at home having his dinner whilst staring at the tv like a zombie. reputations arnt gained using modern tech to give clues but by their problemsolving mindset and first repair success rate. Thus a happy customer paying 1 bill for a part he needed fixed, not several bills for parts not fully worn.
@GCMYT4 жыл бұрын
+ThatGuyYAkn0w what a waste of oxygen. Your never going to understand the full context unless you ask before assuming. I travelled far as a renown garage is better for a video than a local one. Investing in a video that will assist in others making the correct choices. By all means spread hate. That’s all you offer to my comments section. By all means continue
@thatguyyakn0w5074 жыл бұрын
GCM THE PT so all these “please help me” videos about the vibration is purely for youtube content. Loads of people in your area have given up their time to help you and welcomed you into their homes, given you exactly the same diagnosis yet you feel the need to take your business half way up the country . Shame on you
@GCMYT4 жыл бұрын
+ThatGuyYAkn0w if someone isn’t available and I need to fix something fast then naturally I go elsewhere. It’s no disrespect to them it’s purely me rushing. I need to get things fixed so I can get moving with other stuff. Need to get my fat ass to the gym and stop obsessing over this csr. I appreciate it looks bad but it really isn’t as it seems. KZbin shows seconds of someone’s experiences minus all the context as I mentioned.

Guys I am shocked the way those guys were hammering the shaft out! the diff on the ST will break very easy just rotate the wheel and light jemmy out!
@ProjectZeroRacing4 жыл бұрын
Tracie.... This year alone we have removed and fitted well over 100 sets of driveshafts to these cars. The cheap driveshaft fitted to the passenger side required 100x more persuasion to remove than any genuine Ford shaft would and reasonable force was used to complete this process. Hence why you will see me looking at the circlip when we got it out. If it didn't need it we wouldn't of been doing it.

@@tracieoliver2307 excellent Terry so you'll know from your 32 years experience that manual perusassion was the only answer to the issue we had to get that shaft out.... Some come out first tap others don't. The diffs in these things are solid and will take far more than a circlip to be destroyed. I appreciate your comments but it's a situation that you can more than happily comment on a video but without being there doing the job your expressing invalid comments 😂
