Agree with all the comments I moved there on a work visa. When the sun is shining it's absolutely incredible and even watching this makes me want to go back. However it rains for about 9 months of the year and the down town areas drug problem is really out of control. If you ever want to go stick to the north shore it's wonderful.

Thanks, Matthew. It took much time to adjust to Atlanta's seemingly endless rain after so many decades in central Florida. I'll be a visitor up that way henceforth and in the dryer seasons. Cheers and safety to you in this risky era. Richard

Went to that very conference centre in July 2012 for the World Veterinary Dermatology Congress. I took my bike from England on Air Transat (only £25 each way!) and enjoyed these very same routes whilst I was there! Did my longer rides in early morning 6 am and did both Horseshoe and Cypress Mountain. The smell from the Cypress trees on Marine Drive in the early morning was fantastic. On a couple of evenings did multiple loops of Stanley Park. Must be one of the best large cities in the world to live. Great memories of that trip.

I’ve been living in Vancouver for a year and half now and I have to say there are some good road and gravel rides here, but the selection is pretty limited beyond the few good routes. It makes for a great weekend on the bike though. Riding the sea to sky highway is pretty brutal actually as the traffic is fast and busy and us cyclists are stuck on a tiny shoulder. Still, the drop bar riding is pretty rad here. Getting off the road though: The mountain biking here is absolutely incredible and offers the ultimate in variety.
