Which team would you like to see Roglič race for next year? 🤔
@TheStork1981
@TheStork1981 Жыл бұрын
First of all, stop slaughtering Iúri "Piglet" Leitão name! The guy will win several road races and he is already the current Omnium World Champion... also ahead of Viviani! Second, did Roglic tell you he was leaving because he wanted to go for the Tour as a sole leader or you are just making that up?! 🙄 There can be several reasons for him to leave, including the shameful way he was treated at the last Vuelta, where they brought Vingegaard at the last minute and then did not let the cyclist that gave them more victories, the one that made Jumbo, even run for the title! You should not become that person...

I would rather see Roglic at Ineos and Remco at Bora (I think that would suit both riders and teams better) but it looks like it will be the other way round. Regardless the TDF is going to be completely off the chain next year.

I think new fans tend to forget / not know who Primož actually is. He’s the man that made Jumbo. Sure, they’ve got a prince in Jonas Vingegaard for the Tour, but they lost the king. Primož deserves sole leadership and a team that really rides for him. Shame to see such a long and successful and iconic partnership end tho.

@@pablothecloudman How exactly was Roglic mistreated by Jumbo in the Vuelta??? He was selfish and wanted to win, he was told by the team, that the priority was having Kuss win, and if he had raced against the team's decision Vingegaard would have crushed him, as he was much stronger than Roglic. The best Roglic could have hoped for was second place behind Vingegaard, now he had to settle for third behind Kuss and Vingegaard.

@@eliasrosanelli2575 Well, does Vingegaard look like a rider with an ego? Judging pro riders' ego is not always the easiest. My guess is that a ride like Rog coming to any team would subdue criticism, but that doesn't mean everyone will be merry and jolly at such a reality. My point is just that Ineos is a much more hierarchical team when a rider like Rog is there. I might be completely wrong but that is my intuition.

So I know the definition of a "merger" but what exactly is it and how does it work? Does one team get all the other teams riders (which wouldn't work or make sense nor is it allowed by the rules), what happens to the sponsorships? I'm unsure of how it works and the logistics of it all. What's the purpose of it? Who benefits from it and what are the benefits of a meger?

It was a surprise because Jumbo Visma is the best team out there, so why would he leave with a two-year contract. But it is no surprise after what Plugge and Zeeman told Primoz last winter. "Hey, Primoz wouldn't you like to win the Giro?". "Well yes of course!". "Ok great! We will build a team for you for the Giro then next year!". "And I will ride the tour then?". "Euh, no". After which Primoz thought "I will never get a chance to win the Tour again with this team!". It is not rocket science guys.

6M euro? That sounds like money that Premier (Edit: Israel Premier Tech) would dare to throw. Man, that's going to be the end of Roglic.🙄 From equipment to structure to a forward-thinking approach. I really hope that he cares about how the team will give him a lot more chances than just the price tag. Ineos will be the best-structured team, but Bora is better tactically and they have good riders too, but losing Polit leaves their rouleur department with a huge hole. While at Ineos he will get Rowe, Puccio, and Ganna to guide him. Not to mention, Ineos TT has been eclipsing JV. But the price tag of 6M? I'm not sure if Radcliff will spend that money?🙄 Not even when Froome at his peak wasn't paid that kind of money (?). Unless they are desperate to be a serious challenger again in GT for the short term. But I think Ineos is waiting for Remco. Whichever team, I honestly quite worry if Roglic will sign with Premier Tech. They are known for spending money not very smart. Spending 6M for Rogilc is their smart move ever. Not only will guarantee them to be invited to every GT (even if they aren't WT), but their UCI point will be up there since Roglic is a winning machine. Roglic will put them in a "relevant" conversation and put them on the map of the GT race.

Some people in this comments section try to make believe that Roglic "made" Jumbo Visma. This is BS. Sure Roglic was important for them in the last few years, but Jumbo Visma is the continuation of a the great and illustrious Dutch team that was formerly known as TI Ralleigh and later Rabobank (and had a few other sponsor names to). Since the ´70´s this has been one of the great teams in the tour and in the many classic races such as Paris Roubaix, etc. They have a list of honours as long as my arm, and the same goes for the list of great riders. So to say that Roglic "made" this team is total nonsense. If anything Roglic was made by Jumbo Visma because by asking them to become their lead man, they offered him the opportunity to become the leading person in the peloton that he is now.

Why would he go there when Jumbo-Visma are most like going to merge with Soudal Quickstep ?! And Roglic is leaving Jumbo-Visma. My guess would be Ineos, like the rest.

All teams must give their team members a free hand and equal opportunity to go for the win.. say ... in the final 10... 20kms... to compete individually or as a team and go for the win. This BS team leader concept is ruining teams and members opportunities to score wins. Last la vuelta was a classic example..Roglic or JV could have easily won it..but they were stopped..to protect Sepp. That's winner fixing . Scam. Ugly. That's not racing. And..obviously these star riders were not happy..so this breakup of this briliant Jubo Visma team. Roglic should leave them and find a team that he can go for wins..no one should play second fiddle to anyone against their will. Their strength and energy will not last forever...may be he will have few more years of racing left in him..he should use it well.

I think the big thing to see is if Jumbo is the reason why Roglic is so good or whether it's Roglic is so good on his own merits.

Ive been a team SKY/INEOS fan since the beginning and even tho the team doesn't produce results like they used to. So many reasons for that . . . Bernal may never regain full form, froomey GONE, G is getting too old and doesn't have it in him anymore and amongst several other things but I REALLY DO NOT WANT ROGLIC riding for INEOS!! INEOS biggest reason is it's a team with no cohesion RIGHT NOW which has been proven over the past three years far so therefore I believe They need to build like a 3 year plan but NOT WITH ROGLIC. He's good for La Vuelta (MAYBE NOT NOW SINCE SEP KUSS HAS PROVEN HIMSELF AS A GC CONTENDER). TRUTH BE TOLD I'VE NEVER BEEN IMPRESSED BY HIM (Roglic) AND HE'S ONLY GETTING OLDER AND IT'S NOT HELPING HIM PERFORM AT HIS PREVIOUS LEVEL. I don't care where he goes but he's not INEOS quality. MAIN REASON being is his inability to be a team player (NOT BEING GC WOULD BE TOO Demoralizing FOR HIM. He'd make a good domestique for a younger better GC rider on INEOS. I'm not sure who that is but as long as it's NOT ROGLIC!!! 🤘🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@@hendrixinfinity3992 True. True. At the moment though. But Jonas has never been coming back from setbacks and crashes like Roglic and Pogacar. There's no guarantee that he'll stay upright all season long. Once he hits set back and crash, we shall see how he will cope with it, does he has a nerve like steel? So far Jonas's stars have been lining up for him. So, time will tell.
