How many more monuments can Pogačar win in his career? 🤔

I want to see Pogacar race Paris-Roubaix. I think it would favor Pogacar’s individual talents very well if he’s up to it.

5. At least. I think MSR is the most difficult for him to win. PR he could win on pure strenght if he decided to take the risk one day which I believe he will.

In tomorrow's Tour of Turkey stage they will be climbing to Babadag (Mt Father, 1969 meter) from the sea level..There isn't a single climb in professional cycling including the Angliru that one can compare with the Babadag climb in terms of distance and gradient..It just never ends and doesn't give you any easy section (apart from the 200 meters slightly flat section somewhere around 1400 m altitude). The view from the top is amazing since it is one of very few mountains that is quite high and close to the sea). Kudos to tomorrow's winner, would be nice to watch some big guns going at it in the future..We will be stationed around the middle section where the average gradient is 25 percent for like a km cheering for grupetto ❤

The women's races should always be televised... Once you get into the teams /riders and so forth it's worthy of watching...I've watched much more women's racing this year and I've been thoroughly entertained... Come on... be fair and get the girls on tele.

I think their doping program had the edge when the sport was a bit cleaner, but post-COVID they’re somehow way behind the times. I also really hope Bernal eventually returns to form.

27.000m of climbing. That is totally insane. I know many of those roads, I have ridden most. But one by one of course. Each of those is really hard. Each of the 26.

The early rumors of the Jumbo/Quickstep merger were primarily fueled by Jumbo Visma losing their main title sponsor. Presumably, the merger would create a new team under Quickstep’s title sponsor. Lafevere himself said that Amazon’s potential (now confirmed) sponsorship with Jumbo Visma would have likely prevented the merger from happening. So while I somewhat agree that the merger saga was very messy, I do think it was initiated out of financial necessity.
@Snarkum Жыл бұрын
Considering how easy it's now proven for JV to solve their sponsor situation, I certainly don't think their desire to take over SOQ was motivated by financial necessity.

Why does GCN always mention Eddy Merckx's victories when he was also caught for doping 3 times...Armstrong is not allowed to be mentioned but Eddy is praised as the GOAT....
@DnDMF Жыл бұрын
You are correct, but on the other hand Merckx started his career when doping was legal. He won his first Tour only 2-3 years after doping control started. I guess it has to do more with the whole story of the rider and his personality than just the fact of doping. Same with Pantani, everybody likes him because of his story. In my eyes LeMond is the one and hopefully some of the young guys.

The "Gravel World 'Championship'" might have been just a little less of a joke than last year, but most of the highlights shown here were on tarmac. The UCI still doesn't get it ... or they get it, but can't bring themselves to organize real honest-to-goodness tough-stuff gravel races.
@jw3638 Жыл бұрын
Unbound the real gravel championship
@8paolo96 Жыл бұрын
There were quite some gravel sector this year, ok, it was not 100% gravel, but also consider that is easier to have good shots on tarmac than on singletracks. One thousand times better than last year for sure.

Eventually the UCI will put gravel races on cyclocross courses, just like they now do with mountain biking.

Remco could go, the team would make some so need cash of the sale and release the obligation of what possible is a very high wages for the team. Remco should not find difficult in find another team that can support his ambitions and personal goals. Quickstep could go back on one days races and grand tour stages wins. Seems like a win win situation.
@easternbrown Жыл бұрын
Apart from the issue wih the women's race, the coverage of the gravel was really just following Mohoric to the line. I agree it was interesting for cyclists to see his bike handling ability, but that's not enough to attract a wider audience, there was no sense of race drama and tension like road racing provides, or cyclo-cross also. Whether the issue is that the coverage was poor or that long gravel races just aren't that exciting, it is not set to become a fixture on TV / credible elite sport on this showing. And maybe that's OK.
@badsamaritansofficial6704 Жыл бұрын
What long gravel race? It was only 160k. Not really a world championship as a race like unbound is way longer

Why is the intro so long, it should be 1/10th the length at most. GCN going for equity virtue signal points, is the "artist" who did the music (free or cheap beat for sure, maybe even a pre-made demo from a synth or "producer") getting overpaid and plugged, why? Muted and skipped over in less than 2 seconds.

Carrying on about parity between women and men's racing...I guess we have to pretend like we are interested but honestly I am not and most men are not. I couldn't name any of the female racers. What about them demands parity. They are slower and weaker and I find them boring. But I guess lip service must be paid. Just saying the truth as I see it.
