Right hand: back shifting and braking, left hand: front shifting and breaking. Easy! I know, in the UK everthing is otherway round. You have to turn the handlebar to the left if you wanna go right etc. 🙃

Yeah i wondered, But then this isn't a rental bike or an whore at your local bike club. Bikes at this level need to be custom fitted to it's intended rider. No point in saving that expense at this level.

I work in a Trek shop. I can't wait to get one of these in and built so I can test ride it. My only current gripe is the men's Trek road team is set up to ride like a they aren't a team. I at least want to see some stage wins...

At least I can say I own the same saddle as a pro. The Verse Pro suits me quite well and is unnoticeable on long rides. And the red color of the frame is worth at least +1 km/h all by itself.

Just got my OltreXR4 in 59cm with ultegra di2 and with pedals bottle cages is 8.05 kg. All this fuss for a hole in the seat post but the weight is still there. What I love of trek is new handlebars - they look crisp

I used to ride Trek exclusively. You could buy a full carbon Ultegra madone for $2500. That same setup is $8000 now. Technology has not advanced nearly that much nor has manufacturing costs. They are just ripping people off. Sadly it isn't just them.

@@glharlor it's not manufacturing costs, although every new fangled design will add to it, its the development costs, wind tunnel testing costs, rider testings etc. They are passing the cost onto the consumer. But 8 grand for it, hope the marketing department has done their homework and enough people buy it to make a profit.

I like the top-bar's flatness - the balls crusher. Instead of only crushing one ball on a round top tube, now the flatter profile allows both to be crushed under a rider's pedal-slip. Very smart of Trek. It looks far more stff, too, so total crushing is now possible.

Specialized tarmac sl7 handlebar recall incident is a typical example, pro’s aero fly II all have aluminum reinforcements inside, you can see them clearly in one of their team documentaries. Bike frames are probably built in the US instead of China with much higher QC.

Afaik it takes some time after upload until all resolutions are available. But why stop at 4K? Just order that bike as soon as it's available :-P It's one minute faster under some conditions compared to whatever :-D

Love taping from the top down to the bar ends. So fresh. So clean. I have never had problems taping this way and adore not seeing that electrical tape on my bars. ♥️♥️♥️

@@fradd4045 I was referring to the bike in this video. The bars were clearly taped backwards (from the top to bottom). I am fully aware this is not standard practice. But my experience has repeatedly shown that when I tape from the top to bottom it has worked like a charm and removes the need for ugly tape at the top. To each their own.

What's confusing to me is at 3:45, Sy says that that the handlebars were wrapped backwards from normal thus removing the need for tape. I'm not sure what he meant by that. But clearly it was not what I thought he meant. Good catch!!!! 👏👏👏

Quite surprised at the weight for a tdf bike. Expected 7.7kg tops. You can still have a very aero bike for much less weight. Considering the route with few sprint stages this year I'd much prefer more of a balance.

That's like carrying an extra full bottle in your back pocket over all those mountain passes. How is that beneficial? Who would choose to do that?
