Best bike I have ever ridden. I'm new to cycling and in the last 3 months, went from a Trek FX2, to Domane AL 5 Gen 4, to Domane SL 6 AXS Gen 4, to Domane SLR 6 Gen 4. The Domane SL and SLR 6 Gen 4s do have a real problem with the Isospeed/seat post so I had to bring mine back to the shop where they had to warranty the frame. While I was waiting for the new frame, I stumbled across the Madone. I test rode a the SL and SLR 7 Gen 7 versions, then test rode the SL 7 Gen 8 version. I had the shop exchange my Domane SLR 6 Gen 4 for the Madone SLR 7 Gen 8. The Gen 8 was the best bike out of all of them. Aesthetically, the Gen 7 Madone looks a little nicer, but the Gen 8 is also a unique looking bike. But it's fast, responsive, comfortable, an excellent climber, and the Team Replica colorway is gorgeous. I never thought I'd spend $9K on a bike but it was an investment in fitness and lifestyle. My only complaint is that the seatpost is a little too short. I feel I could be 1-2 inches higher. I'm 5'9", 185 lbs. I have a 30.5 inseam. With the old sizing, I ride a 54. The new Madone sizing feels like I'm on a 52 or 53 (if the size existed). I don't want to pay $300 for a new seatpost so I'll just suck it up. But honestly, this bike is amazing and I'm glad I went with it over any other brand or model. Great job, Trek.

I just went from a Emonda to the Gen 8. It’s trully a great bike to ride. Love it. SL6 AXS.

I have the new Madone SL5 - it's great! I put good carbon wheels and handlebar on it. I can also upgrade to Di2 if I want in the future, but I'm happy with 12-speed 105.

Basically, the team wanted something that could compete against the Specialized SL8, the Cannondale SuperSix Evo HiMod 2, and the Pinarello Dogma F. It looks great to me!

It really is a shame that Lidl is Trek's main team sponsor because that paint job is truly horrendous.

I think this is somewhat of a TDF tradition 😅 The Cube Litening i.e. also looks terrible in the race design, but is a beautiful bike in the standard colors.

I applaud the effort and result of blending aero with less weigh. I wonder if Trek has plans to also revamp the wheels (lighter) which would even more weigh savings to all models. It is a competition when it comes to other brands, Specialized, Giant to name a couple. Light(set) weigh matters to the buyer/athlete. BEAUTIFUL Bike. Sexy with brains, a hands down winner.

next thing trek will do is mix this madone with their domane and form one bike. They will then do it with checkpoint, and eventually the only bike trek produces for mountain, road, kids, and urban is Madone.

Yeah and the prices going ridiculous cost more than a motorbike. This world is ridiculous and stupid people buying it. Talking about aerodynamic with a moving rider again ridiculous

What do you feel the disadvantage of the Gen 8 is over the Gen 7?
@realekm6 ай бұрын
@@c0reying imo There is no disadvantage here. They are all fast bikes but some people are just disappointed Trek released Gen 8 to replace the 7 and also weight of Gen 8 is lighter.

I love the look and really dislike that to get same aerodynamics of the old madone you have you use those stupid bottles.. Win and Loss.. And the isoflow is a let down as well as I have already seen many friends have theirs fail on their Madone 7
@douglasbooth68363 ай бұрын
Hence they have changed the tube sizes. You can’t build a lightweight cantilever that fits all weights. The dimensions have to be different.

@josephreilman85276 ай бұрын
Thanks guys. You made a heavier emonda and an uglier less aero Madone. And if we want it to be "Just as aero" we have to pay $200 for bottles and cages. Once again you piss on what the customer wants. And to charge $1300 MORE for a frameset you made purely based on an economic crisis is laughable. As in ha ha, not getting my money
@douglasbooth68363 ай бұрын
It’s only more aero with the heavy bottles. Half of the weight saving is from sram. Why give flat time gains over emonda and not v madone gen7? Only reason they built this is to save money. Ofcourse you have to change the robe sizes to get the same compliance throw out the sizes. I said this the minute they came out with the cantilever rear ended.

This bike has a beautiful paint job. However: The TREK bikes for "normal" people are bloody ugly: covered over and over with disgusting stickers that you can't peel off because Trek put paint over it. Even the wheel have ugly stickers on them. WHY, Trek, WHY? Why do you do this? Would you buy a fancy car that is covered with stickers and - in addition to tha sacrilege - has the brand name written in HUGE letters over the whole car? You probably wouldn't. Why do you do it with your bicycles? Can't the branding be more decent?
