Sram is killing it with these upgrade groups and price points!!!

Don't show Apple the price of Sram bicycle components. After that they will raise the price, the iPhone will cost $7,000.

Just installed mine. A big thanks to all of you who shelled out the Xtra $$$ for the pricier models. You helped pave the way for me to get the affordable GX with the same performance qualities!

Let's take a realistic look at the things that surround us. Do you see the difference in price per 70 grams in weight? Yes. This is a killer price. We pay a lot of money for 100 grams of gear shift, but at the same time, we don’t think that losing 1 kg is much cheaper. No money needed. All you need is desire and desire. That's all. I will give the manufacturer money for reliability, for clear and smooth gear shifting, but not for 70 grams!!! This is insignificant to give away a lot of money. Are you crazy? What is 70/100/200 grams? Go to the toilet in the morning and you are lighter than this switch. We eat whatever we like without thinking. Tasty. Eat. More and more. And then, we select components for the bike and look at their weight. 70 grams difference, are you serious? The manufacturer is simply mocking us. Don't be fools. Give money for reliability, for ease of operation, for maintainability. But not for 70 grams.

That really is a great option to add for electronic shifting . Imagine that being an option for road bikes 🙌🏼!

Me, my bike, hydration pack, etc. weigh 104,190 grams. The 83 grams difference between these two will decrease my total weight by .07%. Prob could find a better use of $400.

If I wasn’t running a mechanical X01 setup I’d pick one of these up for sure. I’ll wait a few months and hope they include the battery cover on the higher end upgrade kits. Great to see SRAM trickle down the tech to the more affordable gruppo’s.

Owned GX for a year. Bought XX1 today. Weight difference is negligible. The motor sounds different on the upshifts to easy gear. The fit and finish are clearly nicer on the XX1. Hopefully the carbon outer cage will hold up against flying debris. Swapped out the XX1 controller’s silver mounting piece for the GX’s all black. Selling GX soon. Oh yeah, replaced titanium hardware with oil slick Better Bolts. Bike was full GX drivetrain a year ago. Slowly upgraded to full XX1 today. However chainring is Absolute Black. I ride XC.

Don't the XX1 units have ceramic bearings vs. steel on the X01 and GX?
@IMac89392 жыл бұрын
Sram say xx1 axs has ceramic bearings in its pulleys BUT someone on the MTB forum took the bearing covers off to check and what they found is that only the blue pulley bearing actually has ceramic ball inside it and it only has 1 of them and the rest are not ceramic. So, I guess if you just fit 1 single ceramic ball you can then get away with saying the bearings are ceramic.
@raheemgahelable3 жыл бұрын
Great video! But, this is just me nurding out,... I'd think the battery would last longer on XX1 over GX, because the motor on XX1 will have a 100 grams lighter derailleur to move back and forth, and therefore, it's gonna be less effort. If that makes any sense. So the $400 isn't just for the weight saving, IMHO
@GCPerformance183 жыл бұрын
I can see that but i dont think it will be anything signifcant at all, becuase the derailler is attached the bike so its not like 100 grams souly on the motor its kind of being held in the air

Are the shifters identical? My GX AXS took a hit earlier, and my local bike shop is trying to sell their last few standalone XX1 AXS derailleur for a really good price. Does the GX shifter sync with the XX1? As I don't really want to get the full upgrade kit if I don't have to.
@GCPerformance182 жыл бұрын
yes they sink with each other, I think they are identical

I recently purchased the XX1 ceramic pulleys and put them into the GX RD. Wondering if the hardware that connects the RD to the hanger are same or different.

Currently using GX Eagle mechanical. Would it make sense to swap to GX Eagle AXS? Is the shifting going to be that much better???

I enjoy it much more, alot of people when they first make the switch dont like it because they pay the money for something, but it is a much nicer smoothing shift and also the noises and the flex lol

The biggest disappointment if the following: 100g heavier cassette for XX1 12 speed compared to 11 speed, and 120g heavier for XX1 AXS derailleur compared to XX1 11-12 speed. So if you don't need the ratio and the range, XX1 11 speed is still the lightest and best groupset for you, and it shifts equally good as the 12 speed stuff with a more durable chain.
@GustavoHenrique862 жыл бұрын
12 Speed chain is by far the most durable.

Idk... I’d say for the XX1 they should make that “controller” out of more carbon bits and pieces than the GX. Especially when all they did was add “GX” logo to it. It’s all mind games at the end of the day. Making people think about maybe I should just get the XX1 cause it doesn’t say “GX”. When in fact there’s no weight penalty. I’m sure they’ll eventually do that to XX1 AXS but of course with a price penalty. Just crazy. Good trash though brother.
