Hi Sir, first of all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you had a wonderful time. I was wondering when you will finish the physics paper 2 and biology paper 2 videos. I have been using your videos for AQA Trilogy science revision and I find them very useful. I have made notes on everything except the ones above. I have my mocks in mid Feb and I was really hoping if you could finish them before it as I really want to do well in them. Thanks and I will be waiting for your reply.

hello sir i know this isnt the right video to ask this on, but do u have any list or video telling us what equations will and will not be on equation sheets cause i struggle with learning equations and wanna learn them as soon as possible
@FreesciencelessonsАй бұрын
Do you mean for GCSE Physics? From what I understand, all UK students will be provided with all the GCSE Physics equations from 2025-2027.

Sorry to bother you again, but your videos are so great I watch loads of them-what's the difference between galvanising and sacrificial protection; does galvanizing only apply to zinc, and is it a form of sacrificial protection?
@Freesciencelessons5 жыл бұрын
Hi. That's covered in the Chemistry 2 playlist "Resources" and the video is "Corrosion".
@JesseDNME5 жыл бұрын
Sacrificial protection is a method to prevent the corrosion of iron, also known as rusting. Sacrificial protection is basically attaching a piece of metal that is more reactive that iron to the object made of iron. This more reactive metal, commonly magnesium or zinc, will corrode in the place of iron. That is, the more reactive metal will feed the iron with electrons each time the iron is oxidised to form iron ions, thus reverting it to iron once again instead of letting it become iron hydroxide (rust). Thus, the more reactive metal is sacrificed for the iron. In conclusion Galvanising is sacrificial protection

so when you mention things that will be mentioned in the GCSE so we don't have to memorize them are you talking about Edexcel or only AQA
@fireemperorzuko87564 жыл бұрын
You definitely have to know it for AQA and most likely for Edexcel too

Is galvanising only done with zinc, or can other metals be used?
@forevermauru13763 жыл бұрын
Its only done using zinc, but there are different methods (such as hot-dip galvanizing) to apply zinc to iron or steel
@gogopendo16882 жыл бұрын
Gather them and washers and nuts and bolts and screws and what ever littlle bit of metal which is galvanised, it has to be galvanised What are we building? you said it yourself a robot

Steel rusts faster in contact with salty water. The legs of a pier are always under sea water. How do engineers stop the legs from rusting? I watched your video many times but I could not find my answer. Please help me.Thanks!
@xQryptic6 жыл бұрын
Use a coating of zinc, aluminium oxide or cover it in grease/paint. I'm pretty sure at least.
@slideroast55316 жыл бұрын
Educator Sharmin in order of something to corrode water and oxygen has to be present. He said it at the start. It won't erode if oxygen is not present. Also if the metal was to rust under water it would be galvanised. You weren't paying attention.

1:03 you say that rusting applies to alloys of irons like steel, but a second later you say we must never use the word when talking about alloys of iron. please explain?

No I say never use the word rusting unless talking about iron or alloys of iron.
