By the way, in that paragraph I’d really recommend switching the device and the purpose in the introduction. Most examiners will look for a strong point to start for AO1 and usually do not advise leading with a device. The question asks how it is described so that should be at the forefront of the answer.

Hi from Peru, I´m an English teacher here and it is the first time we are in this programme. I'm a little dizzy about the videos whereas the explanation is fully accurate. My concern is about the subject, is it for English as a second language? Are the sample papers for students who don't have English as a native language? I'm eagerly awaiting your replies. Thank you very much, indeed.
@MrsWhelansEnglish7 жыл бұрын
Hi from North Yorkshire! The papers are for all students taking GCSE English. Regardless of whether English is a second language, all students take the same paper in the UK. Hope this helps

James Lord getting a 5 is about strong AO2. Zoom in on quotes, offering 2/3 explorations of meanings. Try to focus on individual words. The other element is to focus on precise effects on readers. Avoid vague words like 'positive' or 'negative' & aim for really precise words such as 'readers feel surprised/tense/amused etc BECAUSE....
