At 2:31 there's a mistake in ethene (no double bond shown) At 2:42 there's a mistake in the last Carbon of the butene (carbon bonded 5 times instead of 4).

2:42 is right look again

@@hajunseo6669 No its not, each carbon can only make 4 bonds, but in the last carbon of the butene the carbon atom has a double bond with another carbon, and 3 single bonds with hydrogen.

@@hajunseo6669 nope 2:42 is wrong. 11 h and 5 carbons, formula dont work

I have a question, at 3:15 methyl butene, how does carbon bond 5 times? you can see at the very right of the structure that one carbon atom is bonded to 3 hydrogens and has a double bond with a carbon atom. Please explain
@neharikanambiar70673 жыл бұрын
I don't think he's active now so I'll just say it. In the video, it shows carbon having 5 bonds but I think it was a mistake. Carbon will bond only 4 times since it is a tetravalent atom and does not require the third bonding of hydrogen. So it'll just be the double bond with the other carbon and the two hydrogens.
