Just a side note: I realised in editing I made a small mistake on question 7 working out the mass of B, it should have been 1.2 x 40 which has a knock on effect to the final answer.

Q7 was a bit wrong, i know he said that in the pinned comment but im gonna go through it correctly. 1.2 x 40 = 48 48 + 144 = 192 192 / (80 + 40) = 192 / 120 = 1.6g/cm³ (this last equation could be wrong, this was just off the top of my head because i dont wanna use the calculator)

7:18 why's it for A 1.8 x 80 (it's liquid volume) but for B it's 1.2 x 120? wouldn't it be 40 for B? since we're multiplying the volume but the density? because 120 is the volume of liquid C.

As a uni maths student and tutor, I have seen too many papers at this point! Haha. As long as you can do it in the allocated time and understand most of the content that is the main thing.

100%! You could even go above that, practice lots of papers, try and make an effort to notice topics you need help with and study them. Always ask questions if you need help in these comments!

Hi I really need a 7 in maths to study at sixth form and I'm currently on a six, do you have any tips to revise to get a 7 or higher? And also how much like approx would you say you need in each paper to get a 7 because my teacher said half marks but I'm not sure if the grade boundaries will be really high this year and it's always non calculator paper that brings my whole grade down so I need to prioritise the non calculator paper

Look up the topics that are mostly non calc, try focus on those. Understand things like exact trig values that are 100% non calc. Attempt lots of grade 7+ questions and specific past papers. Grade boundaries are likely to be higher this year due to formula sheets being extended. Maybe aim for 50/80 and you should be good! They often do allow exceptions for A Level Maths but a 7 will help you out alot, hope this helps!

Thanks for saying this. Will probably help lots of people. It might be an issue of just memorising and not fully understanding the maths topics. Alot of people just try to memorise maths but understanding it is the most important thing. I am working on a few videos for the future to help the understanding part. Hi I'm a bit confused on number 17 as shouldn't 12 be in the second box as it goes 4,16 and 12 is between them two numbers

When calculating the 4,16 and so on, its actually the area of the boxes, as this is equal to the frequency for each of the classes. As they are rectangles this is base x height, so 1.6 x 10 = 16. Hope this makes sense?

@Brainstrom, I really dont know whether I should do foundation or higher for maths in the time left. I really want a 7 in maths but Im not good at it. I barely scratched a 4 in my last mocks (higher). Do you really think its possible to learn all the content and have enough time left to go from barely getting a 4 to a 6/7?

Thanks for the message, my brother was in a similar position, he went with foundation and much preferred it and got a comfortable 5. But he didn’t need Maths any further. Do you wish to carry on with maths beyond GCSE? I think that could be the main driving point for you But if you really want to push I still believe it is possible. I have another video coming out probably tomorrow with some extra tips to help so I hope that helps too

@@brainstormmath To be honest I'm not doing maths after GCSEs, but I still want a high grade. I think I'm being overly ambitious. With the time left, is it realistic to cover the maths content alongside trying to balance science and English? I mean If I do foundation, I can focus more on the two.

@@jouad5611 i completely get that, I think see what you can do in the next week and if you feel like you’ve improved a-lot maybe go for higher? If not stick with foundation and try secure a 5. Lots of past papers will be the way to go

Why do you add 360 to the values in question 18 part a

So for trig graphs, they repeat every 360 degrees, and so the values will be the same at x+360. Hope this makes sense

Where do i choose 30? If you mean the 0.3, its because the chance of rain on the monday is 70% (0.7) so the chance of no rain is 30% (0.3)

Paper 2 is calc so yes! And yes, maths is maths at the end of the day, the main difference between exam boards is how they ask questions
