The letter "S" means displacement and since acceleration is a vector quantity, shouldn't it be displacement instead of distance??
@Sara-zm1gp
@Sara-zm1gp 4 жыл бұрын
3:09 but the distance is unknown in the question that this equation was applied to. We were given the final velocity. Does that mean that the second equation is used whenever anything other than time is known?

see everything in earth accelartes at 9.8 m per second so thats the accelaration and in the formula u have to multiple the accelartion by 2 so he multiplied 9.8 by 2

9.8m/s2 is the gravitational force, any object that is falling or dropped has a force of gravity applied, meaning you need to include the acceleration of 9.8m/s2 (gravity)
