won't the 100N force and the other 100N force cancel out and cause no acceleration?
@sarahfahdah5008
@sarahfahdah5008 3 жыл бұрын
action and reaction force pairs don't cancel because they act on different objects. The person is pushing on the box (the box is object 1) and the box is pushing back on the person (the person is object 2). Forces can cancel only if they act on the same object. acceleration depends on the formula: force = mass* acceleration. F= ma can be rearranged to: a= F/m. So if the person is pushing on the box with 100N of force , but the box weighs 1000000 kg to work out the acceleration of the box you would do 100 N/1000000 Kg.. This means the box would accelerate but it would hardly be noticeable. So to summarise, the acceleration depends on the mass.

If I push onto a wall then why do I not go back lol
@anmzn.
@anmzn. 2 жыл бұрын
you do, do it hard enough with your feet positioned together and stand close to the wall. if one is behind the other then any force that is relayed onto you is absorbed and relayed onto the ground instead of pushing your body back noticeably

NEED A LITTLE HELP HERE... 0:54 you said that either of them can move..right? sooo what if the mass of both is 60kg... and if are exerting the same force of 30N... then?
@riyapatil3137
@riyapatil3137 3 жыл бұрын
I think none would move because you will require a higher amount of force to bring about movement and overcome the inertia of the object you want to move..this is what I think but confirm with someone else as well
