So inspiring. I love making games, but actually sharing them is the scary part. This gave me the motivation to bite the bullet!

It can be a little scary, but if you want people to play the things you make, the bullet must be bit! 😅 -Wesley

I've seen people also say your first couple of games shouldn't be paid. They should be small free experiences or "vertical slice" samples first, something that will generate interest in you as a developer before showing up one day out of the blue expecting people to throw cash at an unknown. It gives you time to get used to the marketing aspect and see where your audience may be.

What if I made them free-to-start? Would that be effective?

This is pretty informative because I never knew about a lot of these things. Especially making games because I always wondered if I needed to make a social media account to kinda show off what I was doing. Great video.

Exactly! If your game is great people will share it for you, but they need to know it exist first! 👍 -Wesley

Could you make GDevelop mobile friendly or make it an app on the App Store please? I don’t have access to a computer most of the time and I want to continue making my games I’ve been working on.

Hello! this is unrelated but I'm having issues with Gdevelop controls and needed help. I want to use Lshift as a toggle for the player running and walking animation and that's working fine, but when I do press shift the player just starts jumping. I let go of shift and they stop jumping, so its basically working as a space button. I searched up how to fix it and tried everything i could find online, but nothings working. Can you help me?
@GDevelopApp Жыл бұрын
You need to uncheck the "use default controls" in the player object's platformer behavior. And then build out your own using events with "key pressed" as conditions and "simulate X control" as the action. Since shift is one of the default controls for jump, to stop that from happening, you'll need to make custom controls. 👍 -Wesley
