A Gorka suit in a-tacs is a win win! I think Atacs is some of the best most effective camouflage out there. Brother, I thought the same thing about Return of the Jedi, when I rewatched it around a year ago, I was like Hey!, that’s Atacs, before Atacs was around.

This canvas gorka, originally used in really cold weather, but, you need to have full set! First is- cotton layer, second- some think like cotton with four, we name this- bayka, after you wearing camel wool knitted suit- pants and pullover, sometime you wearing uniform and after- gorka. And you can walk and works below 30C for protecting neck and extra warmth we use cotton waffle towel.

Thanks, David. I absolutely recommend picking a set up if you are in an area that gets cool. The regular gorka is good for temps of 60F and below, the winter gorka for temps 35F and below.

Your videos are sharpening up! I've been using my Gorka 4 (non-insulated) suit for a year now and its great. The pants are so comfortable with the suspenders and you can layer up underneath as needed. I wore it winter camping in a snowstorm and it held up pretty good with the right layering underneath. A video game called DayZ turned me on to Gorka suits and your videos sealed the deal haha. I also picked up a Plash Palatka!

I took the jacket for this past weekend's Advanced Course in Ohio and it was a good choice. Never got hung up on briars and kept me warm at night without a fire in 24 degree temperatures. The set will be my choice for any winter activities as well.

Great vid and great gear- a good shell is tough to come by. I tear or wear most of the pricey name brand shells I buy too quickly. These cost less and I bet they are more durable. The built in gaiter effect is a nice touch too. Great video.

...my favourite is the ATACS-AU (not the FG)...but I only have a small pouch and cotton scarf. I like the Flyye Carapax backpack but there is only in FG and it cost a fortune! Nice video, nice material!

I’m using canvas gorka 3 in atacs up in the high desert of west Texas. I could probably use the fleece gorka as a sleep system! No joke. The canvas with one base layer is pretty warm and cozy 40-55 sitting still. Moving I have to shed layers. Colder than 40 one layer is ok as long as I don’t break a sweat but it’s usually back down to a t shirt and top when on the move. Last week 20-30mph gust I set up a low profile plow point just for comfort hunting and glassing on a ridge. Was pretty warm just sitting there mid 40s high wind. The fleece would be perfect for when we are using atvs and not hiking as much

Nice! Yes, they are surprisingly warm. I couldn’t see using the fleece moving around in temps over 40f. The jacket ok, but the pants definitely not. I bet the ATacs is good for your area. cheers

Great review. I am off to their website. One addition that is standard are suspenders. Suspenders are first stage load barring system for gear in pockets and stuff hanging off the belt.. Suspenders will help keep yer britches from ripping out in the crotch., something i learned the hard way with wool pants. Tucking pant legs inside boots, like that of Mucks, will increase chance of ripping crotch out. I cant emphasis them enough.

Nice! I keep contemplating buying one of the fleece lined Gorka suits. Is the fleece liner removable on the BARS version? Hopefully RCC will be kind enough to send you one of the SSO lightweight Partizan suits to test in the summer. I love the couple that I have.

Thanks Leen! No, the fleece is not removable, at least without major modifications. If you are looking for something for a wider variety of use, I would go with the normal canvas gorka 3. Just make sure to order it a little larger than you would normally. I am a size 48/6, but 54/6 fits awesome. The elastic keeps it fitted and the extra room will let you add multiple under layers for whatever the weather dictates.

I've been looking at this Gorka for a few months. I ordered a Bars 3 and got a bars 4 shipped by accident, and a no name Berezka camo gorka 3. Love both, the Bars is by far the best quality wise. I have a Bars 3 on its way from Russia now. I was curious how the fleece lined would do here in the states. Great review.

Nice suit Jess. Not sure I could handle the fleece lining. When I'm moving I run pretty hot. I have a reversible A-TACS FG and AU Partisan suit by SSO. Awesome set and I've always thought the A-TACS is one of the best camps out there. That's why the Rebel Alliance used it! Nate

I use the fleece one since 2 years... I worn it with a wool long jhon and a fleece logging shirt in minus 11 c last weekend up here in canada ...slept right in front of a siberian log fire on a iso matt and a wool blanket ..no shelter ..wasn't a problem war all night.. do you use the russian footwraps??? if not you should .. in russian kazir boots

Awesome gear man. I picked up a camp jacket that apparently is called a fishtail coat, it has strange flaps that are intended to tie up around the legs to keep heat in/wind out. I posted a little video on Instagram with it. It was apparently used in the Korean war, and it appears to have the buttons to accommodate a liner. Not sure if you have any info on these or where to find liners for them? Love all the old military gear. Thanks for the video :)

man, the gorka is kind of a nice jacket, kind of not wanting to wear it as often due to whats happening in ukraine, but i find it quite nice for the colder weather. But as weather is getting colder for my area, kind of wondering if my gorka 5 VOLK jacket will be fine for weathers around 40F+.

I would size up if you can. I am 6’2 with 34” waist and went with a 54-6 and a 52-6. They both fit well, but the larger size allows more layers for sure.

I would get a Bars Gorka 3 (regular version) or a SSO Summer Gorka. The Summer would probably be best. Quality is really nice on the SSOs
