Best video as to how to replace this fan. I took the whole bracket off the back. The screws are a little ackward, be careful not to drop them when removing or replacing. The fan cost me about $65 at my parts store. I am sure you saved me $200 for this job. thanks again

You're lucky you got 11 years out of it. We have a GE fridge and our motor is failing after only 3 years. I have the parts but can't do anything unless I want to void the warranty. Have to wait another week!

Thank you Sir for this video. I just replaced today Wednesday May 17 2023. I had to adjust the fan on the shaft several times because it would hit the bracket or the air deverter in front of the fan. $16 off Amazon.

Thanks for this. Took me just a few minutes (no icemaker in mine so a lot quicker).

You can always use a hair dryer to melt the ice faster, & it blows the water off anything.

I replaced the evaporator fan and plugged the refrigerator back in but the fan isn’t spinning. Do I need to wait with it plugged in and on before it will start working again? We don’t have an icemaker on ours

On that unit in the video the evaporator fan and condenser fan 'RUN" when the compressor runs. ie wired in parallel. The temperature control (thermostat) clicks on and those 3 items all run. The schematic on that unit as a pdf file is downloadable if you Google : "197D8122P002" documents.cdn.ifixit.com/IxYbtI6jQiXlSvr2.pdf So on this videos unit the Evaporator runs when the Compressor runs.

Opened the motor case and turned the bearing holding the shaft. Closed it up and the loud rattling stopped.
