GE Service tech here - this happens quite a bit. I don't always have to replace the timer and if I don't have a knob on my van, I just fedex out a knew knob to the customer.

I have the same dryer and just ordered the timer switch, but didn't know the nob was separate 😮?? If so what's the part number for it, ugh!!

Tip: remove the 2 bolts on the sides of the controll panel then pull pack to release the panel then lsy it flat. Makes the process much easier.

Another great informative video! Thank you! We have the same washer dryer combo and love them. GE makes a great product. Unfortunately we purchased ours during the height of the pandemic chaos. We waited four months for them to arrive and they do have some gremlins that reveal themselves from time to time. I may be using this video in the future 👍🏻👍🏻.

Buying new appliances I don't think is any fun, the GE clothes washer and dryer have been good units and this is the first the I have had to fix on either of them. The wife loves her washer and dryer though haha!

Hi! Very informative video. I hope my problem is just the dial which has a hairline crack. I am a 70 year old grandma and cannot move the dryer anymore. ( I also want to wallpaper the back wall if I do have to get someone to move it for me.) Plus I am on my Social Security which is not much. I am thinking about buying a new dryer if it costs too much to fix. My dryer is 7 years old. How old is the one in your video? Anyway thanks a bunch as I understand the parts better! Cute kids!

thanks for the video. our machine was only 2 years old and hardly used when it failed. No warranty. NOT impressed. Junk. junk junk. We bought the matching washer at the same time, I hate the "agitator motion " zzit,,,zzit,,,zzit " It hardly moves....nor does it do a good job on washing any of the dirty work clothes. CANT wait to replace it !!!

I have not done the belt yet so I couldn't tell you. But I believe if you can get the back panel off you have access yo the belt. Good luck!

My husband just did this on our dryer watching this vid to show him we even followed links to get both parts how however now the new nob won't turn as it's running and the dryer won't heat up

Are you 100% positive you hooked all the wires back in the wright spot?
