The Ge'ez and Amharic languages are among the most important elements that express the culture, history and civilization of the Ethiopian people for thousands of years. The Ge'ez language arose approximately twenty-five centuries ago, separate from its mother, the Sabaean Arabic language, when some Arab tribes migrated from the Yemeni plateau to inhabit the Abyssinian plateau with its original inhabitants, the Cushitic and Somali tribes. The Abyssinians immigrated to their new homeland carrying the language, culture and religious belief, as well as the Musnad script in which the language of their fathers in Yemen was written. Over time, it underwent some modifications and became softer than its predecessor. Their language also had some Cushitic and Somali influences to produce a serious language, which is the Ge’ez language.
How did the language arise and develop, and how did the Amharic language emerge from its womb at a later time, and how did those languages, the Ge'ez language and the #Amharic_language preserve the heritage, civilization, culture and history of the Ethiopian people? Watch with us the final episode of the #History_of_Languages series, which is considered the last episode of the Semitic languages.
