@@mrscoffee8213 get the gtw330 or gtw335. Both are similar to this model except they don’t have the extra options, deep FILL, or auto soak. Plus, their agitator has paddles on the sides so it cleans your clothes. I own the gtw335 and haven’t had any problems.

How did you get the machine to operate with the lid up? We just bought this same model and everything stops with the lid up.

You have to bypass the lid locked. I think you can either unscrew the lid lock (the nudge that’s attached to the lid and then force it into the switch and it should work with the lid up. There’s also ones you Can get on amazon

This load just needed more water. In an old Hydrowave, this amount of water would've been fine. For this particular model, I think it might be better to disconnect the hoses from the washer and use them to fill the tub directly!

Hi, did you make any adjustments to get the washer to fill that high? We purchased the same washer and tried the same settings you are using, but no matter how many clothes we put in it, the water level will not fill more than 6" high (literally, we measured it). Thanks..

Random How To's.. if you are not running enough water pressure it will not fill up very much mine fills up almost to the holes on the agitator before it would only fill up very little in the book it can not have no less the 30 psi water pressure i am on a well system I turned up my pressure from the pressure switch now it runs great hope this helps

This is pathetic wash action - and I did just as you said. After research revealed to me what junk washers have become, I bought a Speed Queen commercial duty top load with knobs, and im SO glad I did. Not cheap but its been everything it was promised to be and then some. No flashy lights, no lid lock, no "E" garbage, just an old school commercial heavy duty washer that wastes no time blinking beeping and "sensing" with four cups of water in the tub - it fills up and gets the job done quick, sounds like an old school washer and the clothes are very clean every time.

What you hear is the plastic gears in the drive, its why its so loud. Back in the day when washers were well built you never would have seen plastic gears in a main drive unit. Probably part of why the machine doesn't have much wash action, if they goosed up the speed and action the nylon gears may not last the warranty period. Theres videos of the plastic gears in this on YT, unbelievable how the quality of our major appliances has dropped. They've replaced good function and reliability with fancy singing touch pads, sensors and a myriad of cycle options giving the illusion theres a lot there when really theres less. All they push now is water conservation and cycle options, no talk at all about reliability. Wheres the lonely maytag repairman we used to see on TV-? Answer: He's working overtime fixing todays junk.

why has technology gone in this direction ? I have a speed queen pair for 4 yrs now not a flaw in them, before that 1984 maytags that served me well for 35 years! Its simple water must be moved thru clothes to get them clean, and yet we cant put them together like that because we have to have them made in mexico and china.good luck in getting your speed queens.!

LOL Yes and I laughed at your comment in the description-lol. I have become one of the worst for ranting about the quality of these new washers, almost like a hobby-lol. It all started for me when I realized my trusty 40 year old GE Filterflo washers outer tub was beginning to rust out. When that happens I wont be able to fix it any more. So it was then I saw first hand how badly engineered the new washers were. After looking in every big box store I was stumped, nothing was worth buying-! So I went to a large reputable appliance outlet and found the answer, a Commercial Duty Speed Queen. It cost easily twice as much but its ten times the washer any of this new HE junk is. I bought one with simple knob controls, but ive heard they wont make the simple knob models after this year. But don't be alarmed, even the Speed Queens with touch pad controls are excellent machines. The touch pads are made very well, theyre heavy duty mil-spec and have a five year warranty on the touch pad alone. Also they have the exact same internal mechanics and warranty as the knob model. You can see YT videos showing the touch pad model, and all reviews are excellent. Only bad thing is they cost a little bit more. But I would still buy one in a heartbeat over anything else on the market.

this is another piece a junk.... as you can see it has little or no rollover... the clothes on the bottom are being rubbed by the fins on the lower agitator... which are the only ones that will possibly be cleaned... these washers are best for small loads.. which allows better rollover .. GE used to produce some of the best washers... they need to go back to the washers they made back in the 70 and 80s ..

I agree. I have a 40 year old GE Filter Flo my aunt bought in 1977 and its still going, only this year did I have to start making the usual repairs. But I know one day the NOS parts supply online will dry up or the outer tub will rust out so I went out and bought a new Speed Queen top loader, its an excellent washer. Not the quietest, but it certainly performs as the old ones did and gets my clothes clean and does it fast. Heavy duty wash cycle is about 30 minutes or a bit longer if extra rinse is selected. It was a bit pricey but the build quality is old school and its everything it was promised to be and im very pleased.
