I hope this helped, mine overflowed and spilled into 130 sq. foot area and into the basement, engineering firm tested and found nothing wrong with the machine ( this swith was tested as well as the water inlet valve ) that i must have had the drain hose laying on the floor and not in the drain/waste pipe in the wall...

Thanks for saving me a lot of money. I cut off about 2 inches of the clogged hose and it worked perfectly. I do however recommend replacing the hose to its original length if you cut too much off to avoid it slipping off during the spin cycles.

That is correct I think I did mention in a video. Also, zip tie the hoes will also give it a bit more security

To be more thorough you need to check the entire hose. My washer was overflowing because the other end of the pressure hose that is attached to the switch inside the control panel had came off. Another reason for an overflow might be that the switch itself is bad.

looks like i have that same ge washer. the problem im having is...the washer wont go into agitation mode....when i start the washer..it fills up. then tries to start the agitation mode but doesnt agitate...it drains and spins though...my agitator isnt broken, Ive checked it as well. The belt isnt broken on the motor, lid switch works, just not the agitation.

Reggie i have the same ge washer it clicks when i blow into it theres mo clog but ireplaced hose anyway...still not activating agitatemode the water pressure inside the tube isn't going high enough to trigger the sensor.why isn't it? Can you please help me?

First thankyou sooo much for the assistance you make available. 1. I detached the tube from the tub to the fill size switch, covered one end of the tube and blew through the other end to test for leaks - OK. 2. Then with power on blew through the switch and the cycle commenced but only as I kept blowing >??? 3. I re attached the tube to the bowl and blew through and could hear water bubbling as I blew through. 4. HOWEVER - when I reconnected the tube [after these tests] the water would still NOT stop flowing. 5. By the way [a] water does come from the tub and flows out of the tube connect site so my question remains as to what creates the pressure in the tube to the pressure switch as I cannot imagine water would flow through the tube to the cutout switch ??? Thanks very much for any positive assistance received.

After doing all of the above the final thing I did [which appeared to finally fix the problem] was to trim just a little from both ends of the pressure hose - AND YIPPEEE it got the machine cycling again - HALLELUJAH PRAISE THE LORD Thanks Everybody

Thanks for the video. It's super helpful. I have a question. Is the pressure box supposed to have water in it? Mine does. The tube was clean and working when I blow in it but the washer was overfilling and not going over the top but coming out the overflow tube. I changed the water height and it didn't overflow today but I noticed the box has about 1/2" of nasty water in it.

What if a washer overflows at the beginning the first rinse/spin cycle ? My thoughts were that the timer isn't activating the drain pump at the right moment. Machine is a Kenmore stacked unit.

Washer only overflows during rinse cycle, that's a rare issue but if it's consistently only doing it on the rinse cycle then that should be a timer issue

Aloha, im having this problem also..we took the tubing out, checked for debri. We blew into the tubing and heard the clicking from the pressure switch...can we still hear the clicking if the diaphragm is not good?

Keep the drain hose as high as possible or it will drain

The machine has overflowed as we filled water manually, is there any danger the overflow water drain outside from top of the tub, damages wiring, motor, or water get stuck up any where, any problem? Can i start the machine, no electricity problem if started, please advise.

No you should be fine most of the electronics have some sort of splash guard to protect them when things like that happens.

Yes you should, an over flowing GE washer is almost always a clogged up pressure tube

Hi Reggie and all experts I’ve a GE coin operated washer. Model #:WCCD2050JWC. Problem: During rinse cycle it would barely fill with water, to about 1/8 of the tub. Once water reaches that water level, it goes into drain and spin mode immediately without agitating at all. It does this twice in the rinse cycle. Water would fill to about 1/8 of the tub and goes into drain and spin cycle. The clothing is not clean as it comes out a bit soapy. I read on the GE site, someone saying it’s a water saving feature. Is their a way to adjust the water level during rinse cycle? Also in the wash cycle, water fills all the way to the top and agitates as its suppose to for about 10-15 minutes. It drains and spins then goes into the rinse cycle. I have tested the pressure switch and hose. Didn’t find any issues. I’ve also replaced the water inlet valve. The same problem persists. Please help if anyone of the experts know how to fix this issue or make adjustment to the water level in the rinse cycle. Thank you. Much appreciated it.

Have you checked the water valves on the wall? Cold water could be off or not all the way on. Washer could fill with warm water during wash but trickle in during rinse, and if not fill within a certain time could trigger Long Fill code.

@@LeanOnYourRep thanks for the reply Reggie.. The valves on the wall are working properly. I tried switching from cold to hot and hot to warm during wash fill cycle. The water flows pretty fast. During rinse cycle it fills quickly but stops about 1/8 tub full and immediately starts to drain and spins after. It does not agitate during rinse at all. This would happen 2 times during rinse cycle. Thanks for the help Reggie.

Be careful with this I did this and it worked for a while but then the hose came loose and disconnected and my washer flooded again. When you cut it it takes out the slack so that when the washer is agitating and spinning it creates enough movement that over time the hose will come dosconnected.

You are correct, you cannot overcut and you can actually get more Slack by releasing the hose from the top rail. Definitely want to be sure there's enough room for it to move around while the tub is spinning
