Hi Chris, You have helped me out tremendously. The switch I understood, Always a problem with those switches. What I didn't know was breaking the connection after the full cycle! DA! That was many peoples problem and they chucked the Machine. Over the year I have collected 4. 3 out of 4 had the switch cut, one new one just had to open and close the lid 6 times. I broke the switch connection after full cycle. Worked good. Machine is not the top of any body's line. Will change it or install an old whirlpool switch I have.. I live in the Caribbean. Electric and rust are the biggest problem. NO circuit boards please. The old Whirlpool is mostly manual switches and a timer. Very loud and beats the dirt out well. Thanks for that tip. I spent hours looking for you tip. Hours I will never get back, your 2 minutes were (PRICELESS)

I'm glad it helped! I like the old machines, all mechanical, and no circuit board or computers.

Had same problem but different solution: The hose that comes from the washer drum to the water level switch was stopped up with gunk . It held enough air pressure in it to turn off and keep off the fill valve. Causing the timer to continuously run even past stop. Maybe this information will help people as well.

How did you get the front off . I pop the two clips and nothing happen. Help?
@chrisbroesky29322 жыл бұрын
I just used a flat putty knife scraper and just pressed in two clips on top. Then cover pops out, lift it off from tabs on bottom. Might have to use palm of your hand to hammer putty knife to release top clips.

How do you know the switch is bad?
@chrisbroesky29323 жыл бұрын
The only thing the toggle switch or the magnetic lid switch does is open and close a two wire circuit to tell the computer the lid is open or closed. My washer works great to this day with the toggle switch. It did not with the magnetic one.

How did you get the old switch out? Just pop it out frim the top with a thin flat blade screwdriver? Where did you order the new switch from?
@chrisbroesky29322 жыл бұрын

Where's the water dude? The damn clothes can't roll over, and get clean... you're just wasting time.
@chrisbroesky29322 жыл бұрын
Your right. They do come out fairly clean but it's the problem with these new water conserving BS machines they don't fill up like the old gems did.
@jamesorsby75532 жыл бұрын
@@chrisbroesky2932 Yeah... I know. But that looked like a GE Hydrowave washer...all you have to do is twist the water knob to the reset, and hold it...it will add more until you let it go. Or you could always just add some in a bucket, and pour it in.
@chrisbroesky29322 жыл бұрын
@@jamesorsby7553 Thanks for the advice. My machine don't have that water switch feature. I've done the bucket thing before just not all the time like a guy should. Im just waiting for it to die and going to an old school machine again.

Delete this video just delete it immediately it's not helping anyone in fact it's hurting people. You're telling people to snip their lid switch and then 30 seconds later you're saying oh that's worthless it don't do nothing in fact you can't snap the lid switch on these. Delete the video bro you're doing more harm than good.
