Gealdýr - Völuspá (Official Track Premiere)

Gealdýr's version of Einar Selvik's (Wardruna) Völuspá, which was written for the TV series Vikings. Völuspá is one of the most famous poems of the Poetic Edda. It tells about the creation of the world (Ginnungagap) and the ending of it (Ragnarök). Nowadays, most people usually see life as something linear - in the Old Norse way of thinking everything in life goes through cycles instead. Ragnarök is not the ending of life. It’s just the fact that something has to die for something else to live.

@@thehblaze dont know much about it, just that Volaspa had to be redone because of a copyright infringement issue. Jonathan had said that Einar had had issue with doing a cover of it. the original was awesome I wish there was a way I could have saved it, it was great.

A beautiful song on a sad birthday. My mother told me today my 14yr old nephew is terminal with cancer. To all that is, was and ever will be I wish I could give my life for his. I will keep chiseling my stone even tho I wish to give it freely. This cycle can be a cruel one. Perhaps I should treat it with cruelty. That would smooth out the unfairness and make it level in my opion

I wish you , your family & especially strength for your nephew. Cancer in children is so wrong and heartbreaking. My son who is 9 became best friends with a young girl with a rare leukemia. The young girl nearly 9 was 5 years remission and on the 5th year mark it came back. She got a bone marrow transplant about a month ago and she is doing well. Her mom runs an holistic integrative clinic for kids with cancer. It was her parents using out of the box thinking that helped her heal beautifully. She does do online consulting and has plans to open a rehabilitation place on a farm using holistic and organic ingredients grown on the farm for meals... in time since her daughter needs this year to heal. The business is Zuza’s Way ( integrative holistic care) in Thiensville , WI. I really do not know what to add but the additional holistic methods helped Zuza her daughter heal really well. I wish you and you nephew to spend beautiful and much time together. I have learn much from knowing this young lady and my heart goes out to you
