I think the dogs are angeled few degrees to not allow them to lock into each other with load. Did this work after assembling or this was just a demo?

Hi! No this wasn't just a demo, these gears are already in use in a cross bike. I think the dogs should't be angled at all, since otherwise they might jump off at full torque. Also these dogs weren't originally machined at all, so only couple of the dogs were handling most torque.
