My first amp was a red knob Princeton chorus, great at what it did, but I don’t miss it.

@@fivewattworld That is a bit of a coincidence... My next amp after this one was the red knob Deluxe 85... Apparently that was Lee Anderton's first amp as well. And boy, oh boy do I not miss it! Thanks 5ww!

My first amp was a birthday gift when I was a teenager, and I still practice through it. It's made by a company called Yorkville Sound (Have it now running a torn 15" Realistic speaker. lol!). My second amp I bought myself (Paid off the layaway right after seeing The Oliver Stone Doors movie in the theater.) and it's a Peavy Bandit and I use it in combination with the Yorkville amp to practice. I also have and still use my first pedals which were gifts from mom and dad (Dist., Chorus, and phaser). They're made by Rocktek, they're plastic housings and still work fine after almost 40 years. Thankfully the pawn shop didn't get these items. Hi Blu!! I didn't even remember Washburn making amps. Cool that you found something that brings back fond memories. 🙂👍👍 Btw, I also still play my first guitar. A little acoustic made by Global. You'll see and hear it when I release my new song and video called "The Right Day".😉

@@mikeshanermusic very cool that you still have that stuff... And still use it?! I remember the Peavey Bandits! I knew lots of guys that had them but I always felt they were out of reach.... So now I feel like a cool kid knowing you! Thanks for sharing that... So cool.

Nothing silly about that, nostalgia is a real thing! I never got rid of any gear, but I had a Peavy Stereo Chorus 212 that I loved that was stolen. I had already transitioned to bass so I never replaced it, until I replaced it digitally about 4 years ago 👀

@@GaryHubbs that hits home Gary... Years ago our house got burglarized and all my gear got stolen... Except my main twin amp... I loved some of the gear and insurance replaced all of it, but for some reason I did not connect with those replacements... That's a rough one having gear you love stolen!

@@BlugubriousMusic yeah I really loved that amp too haha; bought it when I was 16 and I would plug a cheap cabinet I had and sit between the two sets of speakers and bask in the stereo chorus lol!

Just for nostalgic reasons i just never got rid of any of my old gear. Still got my first guitar, amp and pedals. Not that it was great stuff, but i just love old gear and the memories that are attached to it. Not a crazy or dumb thing at all that you bought this old amp. I completely get it Blu 🤘🔥👍

I've had a coupla nostalgia buys. I traded back for my 80's peavey Bandit 112 a coupla years ago. It's as good as it was then!! A few months ago I bought a Univox 335 type guitar that was the same model that I bought in '67(my 1st electric). Plays better than mine did, because back then I didn't know you could set a guitar up!! Still not a great guitar tho'. I've been on the look out for a Univox U-65 amp( was my 1st). Glad to know I'm not the only one bitten by the nostalgia bug!!

@@Roady-13 Very cool, Mike. I think I had forgotten about those Univox guitars. Don't be too hard on yourself I didn't learn about guitar setups until about 10 years ago! I can't lie I hope you find that amp you're looking for... It is pretty cool having this dumb thing!
