I just got the Tecovas “Jason” boot, amazing boot, it’s a riding heel and has a thin rubber sole. I would highly recommend. I have the “Earl” in the bourbon color it’s a great boot. Can’t go wrong with anything Tecovas, they know how to make a long lasting cowboy boot.

I also purchased the Tecovas Earl in goat. I like a slightly looser boot while riding so I ordered a 7EE (I’m a female) because they don’t sell this size much, when my boots arrived they were very dried out. Manufactured date was a year and half ago. I used Bick 4 and it took several applications and did change the coloring. Wish I could have kept the original coloring, but they’re still beautiful boots and feel great to wear

I LOVE your cowboy boots, Distrac Teach!! I've LOVED cowboy boots since I was little! I have a broken in brown pair with a more pointed toe. They're a dark shade of brown. I wear mine with loose jeans, jerseys and even baggy shorts!! I LOVE the stitching on the toe of cowboy boots. I think it makes them stand out more. I LOVE how they make me look taller. I'm 5'10" and I wear size 12. Cowboy boots need their own paid holiday!! :) :) I feel the SAME way you do about cowboy boots! 👍😎😊👊 I want a black pair next, maybe with the metal toe taps on them!! Can't wait!!

I like wearing the Earl every now and then on weekends, but I find myself going to the wolverine BLVD for everyday wear. I like how its a bit wider and feels a bit more comfortable, but sucks they got rid of the "natural" color which is my favorite. Tried ordering the "tan" but it was basically dark brown. Hoping the Earl in goat will be able to replace the BLVD eventually.

I don’t like to use mink oil. It darkens the leather. I prefer bick 4 or Blackrock. I love Tecovas. I highly recommend the Jaspers. Most comfortable boot I have ever worn.

How was your experience with the sizing? I want to buy a pair of Tecovas boots but the reviews on the sizing are all over the place. I wear a 8.5 D in RW iron rangers but wear a 9.5 in regular sneakers.
@distracteach10 ай бұрын
I found the sizing is close to regular sneakers. I wear 9.5EE in pretty much any brand, including these. That said, they will initially be pretty tight until broken in. Ive never owned red wings so afraid i cant make that comparison

FYI - The Goat leather didn't need to be and wasn't supposed to be oiled out of the box. The Goat specifically, comes with a layer of conditioner that needs to be just worn to start to melt and work into the leather. Just use conditioner after about 3 months and then 1X a month there after.

@DistracTeach I have about 6 pairs of Tecovas and I have the Goats. They are awesome and really all Tecovas are great. At the $250 - $300 price point you can't beat them. Enjoy!

I was thinking the same thing. That goat leather appears to be very stuffed with wax. Just need to wear them. I wish more companies would do nubuck, Apache, or similar distressed brown, but Tecovas goat is the closest I’ve seen.

Hello, Can you help me? I would like to order boots from Tecovas. I would like the model "The Earl". But I am not sure about the size. I can't go to a shop to test the size. Can you tell me what size "The Earl" boots are and how long your foot is?
@guymcneill17117 ай бұрын
Tecovas Boots are the best welcome to the ranks. If I were you, I would get the other ones reupholstered and have soul savers put on both boots both pairs I mean that way your boots will last forever. The only thing they’ll get wore out would be the soul saver itself, and all they gotta do is replace the soul saver, and your boots are untouchedto suede boot it comes broken already. It’s like we’re in a slipper.

first off...its lah ray doh...not lah ree doh...and the goat skin is a leather you get if you want a worn distressed look...if you want it soft and supple and shiny...should of got cow .. if your gotta condition these goat skin boots...use a special distressed leather boot conditioner...they use goat skin on these because it breaks in quick and looks well worn in a few weeks instead of months and months with cow leather.. and since youve already oiled the boots up they will probably stay that color awhile...since thise oils are now soaked into the leather...when they are new and you wear them the leather shows scuffs and and wrinkles very easily..simply because thats the way these goat skin boots were designed to do

So you really don't get soft shafts from conditioner. You get soft from leather shafts from breaking them in from the process of taking them on and off (flexes the leather).

You don't need to do anything to the goat skin Goats ate just good to go After about 4 months hand rub some good lotion like Aguilera. You have done alpt of unnecessary work and if you left them alone they would break in in 15 minutes. I have 14 pairs of Tecovas, and I do very little maintenance. Try some Arist Benchmade boots. And don't over due the crsp you steer on them. You are way overthinking the upkeep man. What if you 14 pair of boots, you get anything else done. Throw em on and head out....just sayin....

I thought you were reviewing the Earl goat skin boot made by Tecovas. I really appreciate your effort. You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. This goat skin boot is supposed to look worn and dull. It should never have any sort of shine. These boots look best when they have a little bit of dart and dust on them. Anyone that knows anything about footwear and especially cowboy boots uses and buys Bick 4 Leather Conditioner in bulk. This in saddle soap is all you need for this particular boot. I know many people do not use shoe trees. But if you are doing a review on footwear, it should go without saying you should be a person who uses shit, shoe trees, and every shoe in boot that you have. I don’t understand how anyone can pay top dollar for footwear and let them go to crap by not putting shoe trees in them. Good luck with your mink Oil. I’ve always use this for waterproofing outdoor boots that are used in the rain and mud. I was not aware mink Oil was used for conditioning. Do you want a pair of good looking boots with a gloss to them? I would suggest buying a reptile, or ostrich cowboy boot. And I will clear you in on something. The best cowboy boots for toughness are elephant. They look great, but do not have this high gloss. Finish that you’re looking for. I own some Tecovas boots in Lizard. They are the Nash model in a peanut brittle color. Those are my favorite cowboy boots at the moment. I will tell you that Tullis is more of a fashion boot than it is a real Bonafide cowboy boot. There are several brands. I prefer Tony Lama. But there are a half dozen other ones that are really top-notch.

Save up and buy some lucchese's not 2000's get some good one's. I threw my tecova in the trash definitely a low quality boot once you buy something as nice as lucchese's. Yeehaws are ok but nothing fits like a lucchese. Honestly put 100 a month away and in a year you'll be styling. Hell put up a donation I'll help you out. Good luck and teach those kids well our country depends on it.
