Great looking, high-tech helmet. Thanks for the close-up review. Looking forward to seeing it in action on the India trip.

Intro will go up Friday, and then hopefully every day after that (though I've only done the first two, so will see how busy I am at home as to if I can catch up...)

Thanks David, they should go up from Friday or Saturday. I’ve finished two, but would rather put them up on a consecutive days if I can.

Yes sir. Nearly broke my neck today body surfing in the Indian Ocean in Varkala today. These bike trips are dangerous 🤣. (Got flipped by a wave, graze on the side of my head, loss of hearing in my left ear and I can’t look left. Two days of riding left. I’ll be fine 🙃)

I am going to use it on my next tour, Corsica and Sardinia from the UK, leaving next week. It’ll give me a chance to try it in slightly cooler weather (10-24C) so will record how I get on after that. It was great in Kerala, but not everyone (including me) gets to ride in those conditions.

I honestly don't think hot weather helmets come any better than the Roof Boxer V8. I wear it on a daily basis in Thailand. It would be far too cold in a cold climate. What I like about it is in cities, you can convert it to an open face to get some air in slow-moving traffic. All on the move. Enjoy yourself.

Thanks, I’ll look one up. Unfortunately, hot weather isn’t much of a problem for me for most of the year! 🤣

How is the gopro attachment to the helmet working out? Did it fall off?
@PeakMotorcycles

It lasted the trip, but on the last morning, I noticed the adhesive was coming off on one side. It was ok, but 10 days in hot weather was too much for it. I’ve ordered a helmet specific one from chinmounts, so when that gets here, I’ll do a video.

Nice... Question - how did u travel with it? Inside luggage or separate? What airlines did u use pls?
@PeakMotorcycles

On the way out, I had it as hand luggage with British Airways to Mumbai, and then put it in my hold bag for the flight down to Kochi. (I wore my biking jeans, boots and jacket for the flight to Kochi so I had space) coming home, hand luggage all the way. They said no in Kochi, as only one piece of hand luggage on Air India and I said it was a hat and didn’t count… (was worth a try…) in they end they blinked first and I got to take it as a 2nd piece of hand luggage.

Welcome to India :) Do visit Dhanuskodi end point of India. It's beautiful. Tinted visors are not illegal in India. You can use it at your convenience. Kerala police is strict towards any modification done in the bike. Aux light should be covered during day. Rest of India no one cares.

@@PeakMotorcycles No there is no rules regarding visor. Loud pipes/ bright aux lights at day time and popping wheelie are their favourite money making pass time :D

@@PeakMotorcycles Technically you should be riding on an ISI certified Helmet. None of the big manufacturers comply to that except a few LS2, MT and others. I don't know about foreigners riding and how laws about riding gear applies to them. But I don't think you'll have much problem

Lucky you, you left us behind in this miserable UK ... :) Actually, today was a lovely, sunny and little bit windy Sunday, perfect for good day sailing 😋Got there on the bike, though :) Nice helmet, a bit odd that you cannot have a pic and the visor at the same time on it. Even on the colder days pic comes very useful when sun is low. The shell is made only in two sizes, not very good and the sun visor might be difficult to drop with gloves. Also, this helmet would be a tad lighter without that. I like Klim's solution - a transitions visor as they call it or photo-chromatic in other words. No need to change, always legal, can have pic on and goggles fit too without taking it off, not necessarily sensible to keep it on in hard off-road riding, but possible :)

It is a shame about not having the peak and visor, though having said that, for the last 10 days i’ve been riding with only the peak (and the internal sun visor) in 25-35C temperatures and it has been perfect. Today is day 11 and I’m trying it with the gold visor for the ride from Varkala to Aleppey just to see what it’s like. I’ve not had any problems flipping the internal sun visor with gloves, but then, there hasn’t been an external one to raise either. I have a Klim helmet too, with the transitions lens, and it works really well. Not sure what the replacement cost is if it gets scratched though. I also know of an accident that occurred with one when a rider when from bright sunshine to a tunnel with a bend and it reacted too late, so I am a little cautious with it when riding in bright sun, (not that we get much of that in the UK for more than half the year!)
@tomaskrashevsky818
@tomaskrashevsky818 Жыл бұрын
@@PeakMotorcycles Klim's transitions visor - around £150. I know, you can get a helmet for that :) like LS2 MX436 Adventure, got that. So far didn't have any issues with mine, and sometimes it seems not dark enough :) but I agree, it can be an issue riding into a dark tunnel from a bright sun light. It is not super fast, it takes a little bit of time but if riding in Scorpion with sun visor down together with external visor on, it can be even bigger problem, so I guess, planning and an early decision has to be taken :) With the only sun visor down, does it protect eyes well, I mean in terms of wind going from the bottom of it and into the eyes? I have this issue on another LS helmet, where the sun visor ends a bit short.

Not on a Himalayan at up to 50mph! Without the visor, I expect it would be, but in 35C the airflow is better than the silence. With the visor fitted, it’s quiet enough.
