Good to see someone explaining what gear you use its more important than who makes the music in the video 👍 . KZbinrs get stressed out over the music . Anyway good stuff hope your channel grows fast cheers .

I said it a hundred times I'll say it once more.. idk how you don't have more subs! Great quality videos! I'm original 200 or less didnt really check... been here since you dropped the diawa saltist reel review. I would love to see an additional video about you boat. Like a more indepth video. I have never had the chance to fish from a boat but I have saved up and ready to get a Jon boat and eventually a boat like yours. It really is a beautiful boat youve got there. Cheers! Keep it up man. Your vids really did help me get through my first tour overseas. Thanks 😊

I relate your channel with Pelagic Pursuit being similar fishing style, and taste. Both are my favs channels. Keep up the great work. Yours deserves 100K subs. Tight lines.

Yeah my brotha!!!! Pimping ain't easy!!!! I saw that 13:46 mark in the video when that fish popped off. It's the worst feeling in the world when that happens, but it just makes you fish even harder.

I enjoy these videos and it helped me to choose a combo. I went with a BG MQ 8000 but set up with a rod ( St Croix 7' m & fast, that could get me in some inshore as well as get out on a boat . My plan is to go to a MQ 5000 later and a switch the rod to this.

I love watching your videos I am a big daiwa fan myself right now I'm only fishing freshwater I have a daiwa saltist mq 6000 and a tatula bait caster I've always known to look to the saltwater gear to get the best not saying the tatula is a saltwater reel but can be I got so tired of buying cheap stuff I'm fishing freshwater now but hybrid and stripers fight pretty crazy give them some current at the dams wasn't sure where at the gulf you was found you on IG in Florida that's awesome I use to live near Tampa I miss it only fished on the piers but loved it different fish every time Im hook on your channel can't wait to get back to Florida

Daiwa makes some great gear. Florida is definitely one of the best places to fish. I'm glad you're digging the channel, I appreciate that

@@ScottMikles I'll definitely be back for sure.are there any recommendations you would give for a daiwa surf rod funny thing is here people don't realize that's what you need to get out there like a 100 yards because some days that's where the fish are not always but I like to have the right gear it maybe a 10 ,15 lb fish sometime 20 possibly 30 but with the current I'll still buy one of those saltiga rods that stuff is unreal

Very Informative Video mate!:-) Are you able to give me some tips on what is the Biggest Spool and strongest drags for 3,000-6,000 Spinning Reel. I’m already Locked in to Buy X2 of those Daiwa BG MQ 3,000 or 4,000. Thank you!:-)

Hi Scott, Thanks for this video, very informative. Hope you don't mind me asking a few questions, since I'm new to fishing. How do I know if a reel is suitable for jigging vs casting? and is the Daiwa Saltist MQ versatile enough for both scenarios? Also, I have a Penn Fathom 200 Baitcaster on 30lb braid. Can that be used for jigging? Subscribed!
@ScottMikles3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome, thanks for subscribing. To answer your question, the Daiwa Saltist MQ is a great real for both. One of the things that makes a reel ideal for a situation is the gear ratio, the rate in which it retrieves lines, and the line capacity/strength. Also the knob on the MQ is what some companies call a jigging style. It'll do both great. Depending on the rod it can do both. 30lb is getting close to the lighter side of line depending on what you're trying to catch but for most fish it'll work.

I need a shore jigging reel for my Majorcraft Solpara 1002h 60-100g. I would choose between Daiwa BG Mq, Shimano Saragosa, Penn Slammer 3 or 4 and Daiwa Saltist Ltd. What reel and size would you suggest me?
@chrishaener8702 Жыл бұрын
I've noticed in some of your videos that you have a lot of jigs and snipers that you don't have assist hooks in the back. How come? Are you looking for a faster sink or a different action when jigging? Thanks!
@ScottMikles Жыл бұрын
A number of reasons. Both ways have pros and cons. I prefer a single because it tangles in the line less, does less damage to the fish, things like that. Makes unhooking them easier. Amberjacks will hit repeatedly too so if I miss a hook up it's coming right back. Also, I have a phenomenal holding record with a single, not many come off. Good question. If I was fishing a tournament or targeting a food species I did not want to lose, doubles may be the move.
@Jessica373232 жыл бұрын
I think if you would have had the Slammer 4, you wouldn't have broke off. They offer more drag. Better reel in my opinion
@zak5262 жыл бұрын
His line wasn't heavy enough. Nothing to do with the drag on the reel. Also only time I ever break off is when I have my drag set too heavy. Can't imagine how more drag power could have helped him. Probably don't wanna jig with a penn weighing twice as much too...
