Its really a breath of fresh air seeing a guitarist from a band that I like who isn't all about tube amps and doesn't use hella expensive guitars and pedals. As much as I love gear I hate seeing bands I like that are using 2000 dollar amps and 1500 dollar guitars because im broke and cant afford expensive shit like that.

guitarfan149 Even if the JC120 is a solid-state it's one of the most renowned and sought-after clean amps of all time, and they're pretty fucking expensive - upwards of 1000 bucks. It's not about tube vs solid state, it's about what sounds good.

Check out the plain sliced red oak stile and rail door behind him; it has a full lite, probably 1/4" tempered glass with milled oak sticking. The door should be 1 3/4" thick, but check out the hinges... they appear to be 4" X 4" which is very odd. Also it looks like someone installed a cheap-o grade II lever lock on there, which is sagging.

+Dylan Short I believe he's referring to the fact that tube amps are easily broken when you're on the road and stuff
@samuelsanchez81547 жыл бұрын
Dylan Short Getz probably just doesn't want to carry spare tubes to replace tubes which inevitably go dead in an amp on tour. And the tubes are made of glass, so they're not as rugged as a JC-120 (which is very utilitarian in design)

The jc40 is just a smaller version of the 120 and 70 but it’s not too small , you can crank this thing if u want . If u wanna sound similar to the smiths , the cure , Diiv , beach fossils , turnover , new order , and etc , then this is the amp for you . From now on , whenever you watch a live recording of any band , keep your eyes peeled for a jazz chorus amp on the stage , you’d be surprised how many famous bands use this amp . Believe it or not , Limp bizkit even uses this amp . I have homemade music on my channel that is made with the JC40 , check it out if U want an idea of what a guy who can barley play guitar sounds like using a jc40 and a squier j mascis .

Tube amps are amazing but it's just like anything they are fragile and require more upkeep and are prone to really failing you on a show sometimes , they wear out quicker . The mexican Fenders are just as good if not better than the "American" fenders. The real difference is in the alloy quality of the metal in the hardware.
