thanks for the review. I agree that engraved blade has a look of Damascus steel but is beautiful too. the black knives somehow have a Japanese air to them.

I used to carry my knives daily but they are on the more aggressive side. These Deejo are much more elegant and would be more comfortable taking to work in the office etc. Plus they are very pretty knives surprising how simple the design is. I will probably pick one up myself.

I've always wanted some sort of knife and my parents would always say they were going to let me get one and then never follow through. I work in a hands on job in an ice rink now and this would just be a great little tool to keep handy. Plus that blade is bad ass.

It would fit into my EDC pouch like a charm. I guess a FP would do as well but you know. Its tedious to cut through a seatbelt with a fountain pen nib.

Nice review. Such a nice knife would replace the "customized" plastic knife in my bag, the old and massive key I keep to open boxes (it opened almost more pants pockets than boxes...) and the piece of metal and tape (don't remember where I got this atrocity) I use to cut way too much stuff at the office.

I'd use this knife around the shop where I work opening boxes and packages. Would use it in an urban setting as well for mail, loose threads, some light food prep etc.

rip ties use Velcro for the fasten. you can reuse them zip ties you typically cant though they do make some you can.

Legit questions; I recently found out that the production and use of wooden shoes in Holland is still very much a thing, maybe mostly in industrial places, but still there. Did you know this? And have you ever worn or owned wooden shoes? Also what did the harleking do to you? As for the knife, might just have it passed on to the next comment. :)

I have a single wooden shoe that a friend brought when visiting, it is orange and says something like Hup Holland on it, I believe it is for the national soccer team? Fun, friend is from Breda, and the X-wife asked for a wooden shoe, though she wanted a pair she could wear, but I guess they are really made to fit! Fun stuff!

Yes, they are still being made and -some- still wear them. Don't expect them anywhere out in public in cities, but out in the countryside many families will have a bunch ready near the door to slip into quickly. Source: NL citizen :)

hey guys, im from a farming comunity and we still wear our clogs, not as oft as we used to. almost evryone here has the wood ones but we also have leather and rubber clogs that is what most people wear. they are suprisingly comfy and never get to warm or to cold.

Excellent review as always Stephen. Personally, I'm not a fan of frame lock blades. For practical use, I prefer a lockback. For simple, a carbon steel trapper is hard to beat. But for EDC, I love being a Texan and going the route of carrying a fixed blade on my hip.

I mentor a high school robotics team where we use huge numbers of zip ties, various kinds of tape, and a shit ton of stretch wrap. The kids aren't *supposed* to carry knives, so something like this would really come in handy.

This is late but the locking mechanism being in your hand, is it possible to unlock the knife by squeezing it very tightly or when using it for widdling, cutting rope etc?

Beautiful blade! I'd use this as an EDC and the black blade pairs nicely with the black cassock I wear. It'd be quite useful in fending off heresies, opening Papal Bulls, and carving out "est" on tables before Zwinglians. Good old Lutheran stuff like that.

These knives are good for two things. Impressing your hipster friends. (not implying this reviewer has any friends that identify as "hipster") And cutting or pocking yourself. Holy shit it sucks. I bought one to carry with me to actually use now and then and its useless. The most dangerous knife I've ever owned. I have the slightly bigger one than the one showed. Who cares if its light or fits nicely in your pocket if its unusable? You are way to nice, and I'd love to see an update after you try and use it for anything.

Hmm, I would use the knife to floss the tines on my fountain pen. :) Don't worry, I'm kidding.:) Poor nib. I would legitimately use it to peel and perhaps slice apples between classes at my university as I am prone to eating apples where I cannot easily access a kitchen knife. I don't like just biting into a whole apple as things tend to get quite messy :) With the knife in addition to those lovely single serving packages of "Jif To Go" peanut bitter, I will have a great snack that will give me the energy for class without looking silly by dipping a whole apple into a tiny cup of peanut butter. I always try, but it never works, although I am stubborn. I am sure it will work one of these days. Perhaps this knife could end my apples and peanut butter woes. Also, although my university is quite nice, the surrounding area has a lot of hooligans, and unfortunately there has recently been a lot of crime on campus, including, but not limited to, robberies, assaults, and shockingly, a couple murders all in just the past year. As a result, I'd feel much safer walking to my car after a evening class in the dark if I had a knife on me. Also, knives are allowed on campus, in case you were wondering.
