I love the installation of the new sweeps. No more bolts to cut off. I have spent hours changing sweeps on smaller equipment using an impact removing bolts and having to cut a lot of bolts off to remove the old sweep.

Hi Zach, nice video showing you prepare all staff for the high season. We have nearly done all spring planting except corn which has just been started . Unforunately it became quiet cold again, close to 0 ° Celsius. First trees (sherries and peaches ) are flowering, these are destroyed by frost. Regards and Farm On, Andreas

It sure is nice to have the knock on sweeps instead of having to deal with all those bolts. I noticed a guy going i the field about 20 miles north of me yesterday. It's lighter soil up there plus he farms thousands of acres so he always seems to be the first one going. Next week for us here too. Thanks for the video.

quite the shop you have. never changed a shank that quick. we dont have to use the shnks with springs here in Colorado. we dont have rocks in are fields. changing the sweeps on your digger look easy.i like them called diggers. that must stop at the Minn. line my wife grew up on a farm in northern Iowa they call them field cutivators. my dad called the small sweeps shovels and the big ones sweeps.the shovels we used for cutivating row crops. they still on flood irrigated land cultivate. because it has to be ditched.great video.

Got love those permaloc sweeps. You’ll like those new style sweeps. We put those on last season. They seem to wear longer and pull easier. Also they don’t ridge as bad either. We have some pretty sharp hills where we are and run a 726 finisher. Seemed like that back row of sweeps would sometimes leave some pretty nasty ridges. I think it was just the design of the older style sweep. Good luck with planting this year. It’s getting closer and closer. 😊

Like the machinery display and operation. This shows that farming a sizable amount of land is a significant small business with total plant I assume in the low $ millions. Nice all modern farm. Engineer in ship building/maintenance here. How do crop sales work (finding buyers); deciding what to grow - basicly? I know another topic - but this is not usually known to non farmers.

Zack, i dug in the chiseled plowed ground here today, with a fork, i had just finished hauling some manure. Very cold it was. I can still see snow along a north line field fence today, drifted there from the last 1 foot snow storm. & it leans to the south. I talked to a head lady at the bank today, she said yesterday on their farm, they tried applying anhydrous ammonia, tried a few different fields, southern facing ones, to cold, froze up dirt to the shanks. Washed the 8320R late this evening, after the wind went down some. Need to work in the fertilizer next. Rain middle of next week here it's showing. I wouldn't want to put the seed corn in that cold of ground.

I forgot to mentioned Zack, i bought those new JD cultivator shovels too, 10 inch but. They were on sale, i haven't put them on yet, maybe when done this season. Bolt on type. I have a 960 JD cultivator, bought it use in '11, out your way Painesville, MN, not sure how to spell that, Midwest Equipment. You never mention them as your JD dealer, up in your town too, Alexandra too. It's a 28ft. i removed quit a few shanks when i got it. It had 7 inch shovels on it, they were totally wore out anyway. I removed shanks for better corn stalk flow. I shred the stalks to eliminate plugging problems. They hair pin on the shanks, i set it to dig deep as it goes now, have the power now. This winter they wanted the 8320R in the shop to do soft ware update, then called & said they wanted it for another week to fix oil leaks. No oil ever hit the ground, all warrentee work. I asked them to dyno it, 25 extra PTO HP. 295, i thought last summer when using it, it increased in power, i could tell using for various jobs. Around 270 pto it's suppose to have.

Would just like to say thank you for your videos! Please keep them coming! People need to know how important Agriculture is, and truly see where the seed meets the soil from who plants them. You do an amazing job, I thank you for that! Your family is wonderful, and my Wife and Daughter (shes 2 and loves tractors so far and knows the difference between combines, tractors and sprayers👌 i hope she loves farming as she grows) we all love your videos. Wife literally laughed out loud with your bare butt soil test in your recent planting video for this year🤣. May I ask, we see many disks running and fewer (diggers) field cultivators in Western Ky, why do you all go for your "digger"vs a disk or turbo till style harrow?? Would your heavier soils work better with the digger possibly? Thank you!

Every around here still calls them vibrashanks instead of field cultivators or diggers. Most tractors are green but plows, disks, and “diggers” have always mainly been red. When I farmed in New Zealand they called it a digger but the springs were these massive pig tail springs instead of the coil springs. They had more rock in areas than actual soil.
