Real common issue on the 1.8. Telltale sign is the check emission system warning comes up and throws code P0171. Also a hesitation when first hitting the throttle occurs.

Hey I just had a trusted shop do this for me, they did a good job and are certified through my warranty, but while detailing my engine bay a few days later I see some sort of gunk or sludge or grease they put to either hold or something the lower intake tubing that goes INTO the airbox. Is this safe or normal? I don't see any on anyone else's
