The North Face and Patagonia both make an excellent rain jacket, but is one better than the other? That’s what we sought to find out.

It also depends at ventilation. It matters as much as waterproofing. I mean, it's great that the jacket doesn't leak water, but if I get steamed in it? The result is the same as when it gets wet. 😅

Exactly. The review didn’t mention the most important point. The North Face jacket doesn’t have pit zips.

I’ve been doing research on the brands these last 3 days since I need a rain jacket for Yosemite and the reason why the Patagonia hood was big was because it’s for bikers you should’ve got the torrentshell 3l it’s 100 bucks cheaper and more for everyday use

It's for climbers who wear a climbing helmet. I've never seen a biker putting their hood over their crash helmet, maybe some do

@@unclebob8419 everytime. If you get caught in the rain, you put a hood over your helmet. 👍 For example endura. One of the biggest bikers brand. They're making jacket with bigger hood just for that. 🤞

I wish the north face had more hood space

Ive got mammut patagonia haglofs TNF berghaus marmot and numerous other brands of waterproof jackets and testing them standing under a waterfall or a shower or some 1 pouring a bucket of waterover you almost everyone youll be dry walk up a steep mountain in the rain then check them gurantee you you wont be wet but youll be damp i dont care how breathable they tell you they are but they all give you the impression that the breathabilty is like air conditioning going around your body if you stood in a shower with a cheap say trespass or regatta youll lilkey be dry as well but youd be soaking if you went up a mountain from the inside

Well H2NO is a “standard” and they only use non toxic membranes. Plus, they are certified by all 3rd party humanitarian orgs for ethical manufacturing and sourcing of matierials. TNF was the same once upon a time, but has shifted to a street brand with no ethics in the last decade. Also, don’t buy gore tex unless you’re a real outdoorsman who goes out on deep wildness hikes where help is scarce. Most people don’t need that level rain protection. Just get one of the more DWR based jackets they work great.

Yeah but Patagonia owners hate trump sooo. It’s an easy win for Patagonia.

What a moronic take on two things that have zero to do with each other You would rather be wetter because of a distorted part of your brain tells you to hate a brand because other people you don’t agree with happen to occasionally wear it Grow up brother
