Jeremy Clarkson plays a free game about building wooden race cars.

Your car struggled to turn because it was 4wd with no differentials, it doesnt steer under power because the weight shifts to the rear when accelerating. The handling is twitchy (oversteery) because its very short wheelbase. The thin front wheels also have a lot less grip than the rear dirt tires in the dirt. Just trying to answer some of your questions. Pressing the delete key resets you to the last checkpoint if you get stuck or fall off a cliff.
@10010Linus5 ай бұрын
that doesnt matter, currently in the game theres no way to make a functioning diff as all suspension pieces act like they have an open diff already
@g00gleisgayerthanaids565 ай бұрын
@@10010Linus i think it does, theres a huge handling difference when power is split to the wheels vs being transferred through a solid axle. You cant make a differential, but you can power the wheels individually which seems to function the same as a differential. I can tell a difference in handling from just putting a solid axle and linking both of the front wheel assemblies together in a 2wd car. If what you say is true then why does the handling get worse on a 4wd car? If all suspension pieces functioned as open diffs then the steering wouldnt change at all and in fact, the 4wd car would theoretically handle better as it has power to the steering wheels giving you more control. Make a 4wd car, then drive it, then delete the front axle and drive it again, youll see. I mean, I could be wrong, and misinterpreting grip changes as the cause of the handling changes but yeah, it certainly feels like connecting them makes a difference. I made a car with 2 drive shafts powering each side front and rear, and that seemed to handle much better than the typical singular drive shaft to powering both front and rear axles similar to a solid axle setup.

Yeah there is also a notification that pops up on game start to talk about it. If you have more grip on the rear than at the front the car will understeer because the rear wheels offer resistance to movement. Driving on dirt with dirt tires on the back but skinny ones at the front.
@douglashanks41895 ай бұрын
I belive the steering issue with the vehicle starting the video, is your running basically welded 4x4 diffs and with 2 different tire sizes means you go faster but your frint wheels werent moving fast enough to do anything but slide. And on the rwd one it just needed bore front weight and a diff

For speed you want a small gear directly off the motor, for power a large one if I remember correctly Edit: I got it the wrong way round

I've seen the pattern before, where you get lots of good impressions from a free game without horrible stuff, and then you rug pull and in come all the bad things. My own finding is that its more about weight distribution than anything. Yes there are differences across the wheel types, but having a poor weight balance will emphasise the good/bad in the wheels
