I still hate the missions where we get COG soldiers that fight alongside us, and can actually kill things. I still don't know if they actually have HP or have scripted deaths, but I always tried to keep them alive for as long as possible when I played Gears of War

You know what I like about GoW? The humans are all badass and don’t go pussy in the face of an alien threat. They do what needs to be done and they do it without fear and inhibition. It’s why I never really liked Halos story. Unless you were a Spartan, you were a pussy and weaker/dumber/outclassed than the enemy. In GoW, these humans are scary. They adapted to the war and the imulsion and they just went hardcore. They saw a Brumak go lambent and rather than run, they decided to blow it up.

Afterall, their civilization has completed evolved for combat. Ever since the pendulum wars, the Serans havent had any peace for any longer than 10 years. I like to believe that the Gears series takes place at the same time as our timeline. The reason it may look like the future is because we only see technology for the army, which has been the main focus of research on Sera.

The tentacle grabs you to kill you if you don't destroy the lambent brumak fast enough. It's not an instant death if it grabs you, but you don't have long before the Brumak eats your chopper.

I know people talk about skourge, and that’s fine he’s an ok boss, but at the end of the day this is the final boss of gears 2 and that always bothered me, this doesn’t hold a candle to RAAM

Looking back It is a bit worrying that Gears of war bosses struggle to outshine the actual combat against all the diverse and very scary regular enemies you go against. The Halo games seem to struggle with that too.
