I’m just truly hoping for a full scale gears of war horde mode experience like 10 players working together to defend a small “city” map against a massive horde just to give us a feeling of being a gear against hopeless odds

I don't play horde by any means. But if they're gonna do that, then they may aswell just have it as let's say 4 teams of 5 and each team has to do certain objectives at certain points. Each time a team completes all their objectives, a weapon cache drops at each teams location

That definitely couldn't work unless they change the game engine. They would have to completely redo it from the ground up. The games have always struggled with the low play counts already. It would be impossible for that to happen. They would have to do it like Battlefield.

My bar is set extremely low for gears 6. Im replaying the old gears rn and ive accepted that it’ll never go back to that dark horror atmosphere that we all fell in love with. Im pretty sure they are gonna continue the sandbox map they had in gears 5 instead of linear as well. Tbh i dont even think im that excited anymore about a new gears game. Edit: what a nice suprise that showcase was. Actually was teary eyed. Now im excited.

There are people like us that keep the faith and want to believe it'll be rewarded in time... and a lot of time has indeed gone by. It's been very very tough on all of us Gears, but I want to be a optimistic about the future even when there isn't much being said about it. I mean the most positive thing I've seen lately is that Terry Crews is on the IMDB page for the movie. For anyone that knows who Terry Crews is, it's very clear who he would be playing.

The Gears nostalgia is so different, I just can’t describe it. I haven’t even played too much the past 5-10 years but the possibility of there being a Marcus Fenix collection has me back to the 2010 hype. If they do announce it this week, and somehow tie in Mad World or How it ends….. all-time legendary music/trailers? Sheesh. Sign me up

The general concerns regarding The franchise is the stark difference in environment. Gear 1-3 was a rugged experience! As someone without access to 2 and 3. I'd love a 'remake' or collection so I can play them on the PC! Gear 4/5 was hmm.. Decent, But story wise it didn't feel fleshed out. Hope they do a collection reveal!

On one hand, finally getting back into the swing of things is exciting but then I think back to gears 5 and modern gaming as a whole and just begin to lose hope. i think shooting during mid roll would be really cool i think mantling should be 3 times faster i think that they need to add a map editor at some point of the games lifecycle like forge (custom playlist) and the best of the best get added to map cycle i think bigger teams would be pretty cool maybe a multi team mode also i think you should be able to officially lefty flip (click thumbstick ) or something i think large scale horde/beast modes would be so sweet 20 + player against bots and another thats against real people

My wishlist of items that'll make my fandom of Classic Gears official: 1. Gears 1 Ultimate on Steam, but improved to the point that PC Gamer gives the port Editor's Choice for the first time since 2006 2. Gears 2 and 3 Remastered on Steam of course, but with enough refinements to bridge the gap between them, Gears 1 Ultimate, and the novels and comics 3. Multiplayer across the original trilogy WITHOUT having to create an Epic Games account

I got into Gears when it released as little 6 year old playing through CO-OP with my eldest brother. And I’ve gotta be honest somehow this is a series that has never disappointed me. I get why there are people who don’t particularly like the newer entries but there’s something in every single one I love, including 4 and Judgement (even though I can admit they’re amongst the weakest entries in the whole series). I wouldn’t even say it’s my favourite series ever, or even from Xbox, just the one I’ve consistently enjoyable. So I’m relatively excited to get a new game even if it’s more remasters.

The thing about it for me is the announcement is long overdue. The Coalition is owned by Microsoft. Microsoft has bought and sold so many things. They’ve been hurting for a staple Xbox AAA title for like 2 years. The Coalition has not had any lay offs, closures, or budget changes, which leads me to believe that Xbox is letting them COOK. If they hadn’t had any plans for a gears 6, or scrapped it, they would’ve done it years ago. It’s on the way, they’re taking their time, doing it right, and it’s gonna be a banger.

Gears needs to come to more platforms. I've been with Xbox since 2008, and it'll be a smart move to just put it everywhere at this point. It's pretty much impossible to play the older games online.

Not out of spite, but if its gonna be on ps5 or 6, then i might as well grab a ps6 so i can play sony’s exclusives as well. I think they know this. That would be the end of their hardware sales completely. Which they dont want to happen. So as much as you guys cheerlead for it to happen cos you love gears so much and want more pple to play it. Its not gonna happen. And even if it did, gears will never be mainstream. Its not casual friendly like a cod or battlefield. It has a learning curb with the wall bouncing etc. that alot of casuals already find annoying and hard to do. I love gears but its wishful thinking to believe it would ever be the peak it was back in the day. Even with ps players. It wont ever be big again.

I've been playing since Gears of War 2, and Like you Abz, I'm passionate for this franchise, but I dont want TC to announce another Gears of War game. How they handled Gears 5 from the awful micro transactions, to the bugs (I know that gotten taken care of later on), and even taking down negative reviews on the xbox store right after the game launched (there's way more I can point out), they left an awful impression for me and I really dont want them tarnishing whats left of the franchise. Maybe because I'm getting older and Im seeing how bad gaming is becoming, I'm not excited to see whats in store. I dont mean to be a downer and I do want to see the franchise improve, but it's hard to be excited with how gaming is today. But I guess we will all see together huh? Hopefully one day Gears of War will return to it's former Glory. Good work as always Abz.
