I have a different scenario with a DualShock 3 controller - the left stick has some drift. Skipping past everything I had done prior...I ended up desoldering both stick assemblies and swapped them, soldering the OG left into the right position and OG right into the left position. Plugged it in and found that Gamepad tester showed the left side stick was STILL drifting the same direction. I then moved the thump sticks back to their original location- and the left side then continued to drift. I gave up on the controller at that point.

I just added the Hall effect to my ps5 controllers and I calibrated thru the hardware calibration site. Issue is, when I go to change my sensitivity and dead zone on in game settings it gets knocked out of calibration. But when I put it back to default settings it goes back to normal. Do you have an answer to why?

If you calibrate your DS5 through the calibration site it only "save" your calibration setting into your device and make it as your default without overwriting the original profile. That is why when you change sensitivity in game setting, it will read back your original factory calibration setting. The only way to fix this is to use method 1 mentioned in the video. Manually calibrate the potentiometer.

For me, I would center as much as possible with the pin first. I think range of motion is affected if you don't get it close to start with After that fine tune in software

Use the tool to recalibrate all and see if it fixes it. If not it's probbaly a function of the sensor itself and can't be fixed

Hello, I installed these joysticks for a friend and I calibrated them but I calibrated one of the joysticks too much and now I cannot return it to its original position and I have tried putting a needle in the holes but it does not grab the magnet😓

Ive never had that happen, but you can pop the side cover off as well to reset it. Just be carful. no need to remove, it will bend open with a little force

Yes, 100% It actually doesn't care what thumb sticks are there. As long as it's a dual sense or ds4 it'll calibrate it

@@GearsAndTech my dualsense case is different, it does not drift like your case (where the normal position is slightly off from the 0,0 axis), my dualsense has a very sensitive sensor now, whenever I touch (I didn't even need pressure!) the analog, it will go straight to left end at -1 and it will stays there until I touch it again slightly to the right, do you think this is hardware issue? bcs I have tried calibrating the range also the center and the problem still happening

I think the error is the physical property of the stick itself. Error rate is drop out in signal. Calibration won't fix that

Hi. This is an absolutely amazing video. My ps5 controller board i think is a problem. Im getting a clicking sound on the R2 button and when launching a game the X button L1 and R2 button doesnt seem to work. What is the work around to test this problem ? Will really appreciate your wisdom on this

Your inner board must have moved. Or there are screws not fully in. It happens. I would open the controller up and fully inspect everything

When I follow the instructions with my aim controller and open up the gamepad tester website when I plug in my controller it never goes to the point where I have minimal movement on that stick like what I’ve seen on these calibration videos. When I plug in and let go of the stick to start the process the on screen image moves however far I move the stick 🤦🏻‍♂️

That part of the process is just to make sure the snap back zero point is a good average of all 4 angles. Some sticks don't center straight, so this tries to compensate for that You should expect to see it move all the way while moving it. But the zero point is all its taking when you press The next button.

Everything is ready to go. I'm going to replace the faulty analog joystick with the Hall Effect joystick. I'll try the colobration out tomorrow. Would you recommend changing both sticks? Only one is faulty, but im worried I am going to get stick drift with the other one over time. I've not done soldering for a long time so I'm slightly nervous, but I refuse to buy a third controller.

Hello! I have an issue where my hall effect stick is just too perfect I guess? Circularity gives me an error rate of 3% but because of that it stays perfectly inside the circle which means I can never reach full speed when I run in games. Any idea how I could fix this? Calibrate stick range does nothing.

That's a interesting problem to have In game you can set your dead zone inside and outside. It should trigger full stick lock at a lower range. For example if you set it to 80% as soon as you move the stick past 80% it will see it as 100%

It didn't reach the full diagonal corner right? I mean for example, with both sticks up left, up right, bottom left, bottom right. Becuase it sounds like that issue what i've had with my new RocketGames Controller that i just bought online and i guess my circularity wasn't calibrated at all and after i did calibrate it finally after a month it felt so much better but i had to understand how that calibration works so i could calibrate it on my own so that i could get slightly past the corners again for the ''Perfect'' circularity... So what i'm trying to tell you is all you have to do is get a feeling on how the site calibrates your sticks it can take some time but when your sticks can't reach the corners that's how you can go past them so. You have to do the movements with your sticks i recommend do first one then the other because you don't want to reach the corners fully just almost you have to be very precise i hope you get what i mean so again slow, precise circular movements just before the edge. I hope i could help you when you stil need that i mean i came 3 months late and normally i don't really write comment's but i was going trough this so i can feel the pain. Btw my circularity now after the 4th time i did this is now on both sticks 9% almost 10% so i think that should be 99,9999% perfect. Best regards! :)

Hi it did it would not register one dirsction control. It centred on install just like they do out of alignment the same. It’s just like you said I could not use any calibration software for xbox but I did use a pc control pad tester software to check manual adjustment and it would not register movement on one side both in the end when I tried to adjust both will try a ps4 one-day see how that works out
