The problem is Aim Assist is so strong and busted in CoD and most gunfights are close range, that M&K is at a HUGE disadvantage. M&K can get on target faster than controller, but needing to physically see the character move, track them, and actually react to that movement, while dealing with everything else - compensating for your own strafing/movement, the muzzle flash, gun smoke, recoil, red jelly on screen from being shot, flinch, etc, while your opponent on controller literally just has to keep strafing once they're on you to maintain that rotational aim assist is ridiculous. I don't think M&K getting aim assist is cheating. Obviously you can't use it in competition as their are specific rules in place. It's morally questionable for regular, casual play simply because the people you're playing against don't know that's what they're playing against. While you are getting access to something not normally available to M&K, its still something that's in the game. Its not like you've got wall hacks and an actual aimbot. Also like G&T pointed out, the aiming isn't as precise as actual M&K since you're emulating a controller, its more sweepy, so its not without some drawbacks. Look, it doesn't turn you into some god. In multiplayer it has minimal effect simply because people die fast enough that a lack of aim assist really doesn't make much of a difference in most gunfights. In warzone, it does have a significant impact. You can still be killed fairly easily, but at least you don't feel like you're cheated when you lose a close range gunfight, you just tip your hat to the other person. I'd probably say an average M&K player probably wins like 20-30% of his 1v1 close range gunfights vs controller. I'll define a close range gunfight as like 15 feet or less. M&K with aim assist is probably like a 50-70% win rate. Without aim assist as a M&K player, I'll lose a bunch of my gunfights by 1 or 2 shots even though I'll get the drop on them. A lot of controller players don't understand how much aim assist truly helps them. When you get 0ms reaction time aim correction to my changing direction, while I have to physically see you stop or strafe the other direction, have my brain send neurological signals to my muscles and for my hand to start going back the other direction, takes 200-400ms, doesn't account for overcorrections or anything like that, all the while the TTK is like 600ms, its very easy to see how I lose even if I get the drop on you. So yes, M&K + Aim assist certainly turns the tides in the favor of M&K, but its not as dramatic as you'd think. It makes close range gunfights considerably more fair and competitive for M&K, which is where a majority of gunfights take place anyway. Ultimately idk what the answer is. Since M&K is the smaller subset of the gaming population, they should just give M&K aim assist. Perhaps a slightly weaker version, but aim assist none the less. The inhuman 0ms response/reaction time of rotational aim assist makes close quarter gunfights extremely unfair and unfun for M&K.

Truthfully I agree. But at the same time I don’t. It’s just the nature of controllers. Controllers have the same exact thumb sticks. It’s just naturally harder to aim with one stick. That’s why in games like cod movement is key even when aiming. Aim assist works better when moving your left stick, even if it’s just minor or small movements. That’s one reason why there are a lot of controller players who are good. On mnk you have directional movement and superior aim with a limited amount of rotations from the mouse. In cod it’s just naturally harder on mnk because we have superior aim. With that said the devs made cod a controller game. Unfortunately it’s our job as mnk players to get better even though the devs made the shooting mechanics more realistic in mw2 and mw3. I think Cold War as well. Try not to get down about it. Mnk cod is just a more realistic style of gameplay. Controller cod is a more arcade style of gameplay. Most people like the arcade style of cod. If you really want to win more close up gunfights in cod you really gotta mess with in game mouse acceleration, in game mouse settings and your dpi. You gotta have aim acceleration like how controller thumb sticks have acceleration.

@@theanimazinI'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree. Mouse is easier to aim in a general sense; Like if I want to look left or look right, I can do both almost instantaneously. Obviously with a controller and a thumbstick you're limited by your settings, dynamic vs linear response curve and overall sensitivity. That's why I say, yes, mouse is superior to getting on target first. HOWEVER, as long as you aren't a potato on controller, you can get on target relatively quickly* or if its a situation where you can reset the gunfight, the M&K player is suddenly at a disadvantage. *(My point here is even if the TTK is 700MS, when you aren't missing shots, and you are going to miss shots as a M&K player, that's just how it works. You may start the gunfight on target, but you have no idea if the persons going to go left, right, jump, dropshot. Whatever way the person moves, you will start missing shots attempting to continue tracking them and will miss more shots when they stop moving or change directions again. A controller player may take a little longer to get on target, but between the rotational aim assist from strafing and the aim slowdown from the aim assist bubble, it's pretty much impossible to break free from that tracking, plus they're getting that zero millisecond reaction time to any sort of movement you make from strafing, jumping to sliding. The only thing aim assist doesn't really track is dropshotting. So the deck is really stacked in favor of the controller player.) At the end of the day, yes, mouse is the superior 'general aiming input' and probably better for fine aiming like shooting at a headglitch or sniping, but when it comes to tracking a moving target, rotational aim assist is king, the zero millisecond response time to any movement, regardless of direction makes it nearly impossible for M&K players to keep up. You have to keep in mind controllers get two forms of aim assist. Rotational aim assist from strafing, which is the one that really tracks you, and then they also get Aim slowdown over target. I think if rotational aim assist was removed, and they were left with aim slowdown that would be much fairer. They'd no longer have auto tracking, but still get extra slowdown/precision over a target. The reality is since a majority of the player base is on consoles, I seriously doubt activision want's to nerf a majority of the player base in the name of making the game more fair, that's why I propose they simply give M&K aim assist even if it's a little weaker than the controller version. It's considerably more enjoyable to play on M&K when you aren't guaranteed to lose a majority of your close range gunfights because it's a 50/50 guessing which direction they're going to start strafing and a 50/50 when they're going to stop or change directions. Also you say things about mouse acceleration and all that, but it doesn't really make a difference when you have to actually recognize and adjust for enemy movement yourself without computer AI assisting you.

That's why I like when games include options for motion. Move with the thumbtack, then fine-tune with motion. Both Switch and PlayStation controllers have motion as a feature, but not that many games use it.

The problem with this scenario is that controllers would get absolutely demolished. Activision really shifted gears to focusing on cross platform play a few years back, and with that, they needed to incentivize console players on controllers (by far the largest gaming population) to continue playing even against MKB players. By most logical accounts, they've taken aim assist was too far, but for the goal of pulling in controller players and keeping them, it's on point

I bought this for warzone. I was averaging 3-5 kills per game before. I bought this product and now I can actually sort of keep up with my friends on controller. Mind you my friends average 15+ kills a game and are very good players, but now I can get 8-10 kills with aim assist. And now it actually feels like I’m contributing to the wins rather than just being there waiting for a respawn or res. It doesn’t make kbm players gods like people make it out to seem. Especially in warzone, it just makes the average kbm players able to keep up with controller players Edit: I bought the ax200

Hardware always helps. My 240hz 0.03ms 32inch monitor instead of a 24 inch 60hz 5ms monitor, playing on 240fps instead of 30fps thanks to the RTX4080, instead of 6 keys at the same time on a keyboard I have 25 hits at the same time on my keyboard. It's all evolving. Why not improve the mouse a bit, it's already full of shortkeys and on insane dpi levels with no delays. Giving a mouse aim assist is called an aimbot, same goes for controllers, just practise to get good with it. Saw some people turning it off and it just takes time to learn the dpi of you controller. Most are just lazy and get used by it that it will aim for them

In Warzone, Aim assist needs to be turned down as to be shot by every bullet from a machine gun while in freefall or runing and jumping is ridiculous. Also when a controller player jumps during a gunfight but never seems to miss while jumping is just as stupid!

There is one thing nobody actually talks about!! - do controllers need aim assist? YES, in a FPS games they would have small chance against M&K players without Aim Assist. With a mouse you're just way faster to aim. BUT... I am a M&K player, I play mainly on weekends with friends and my brother. ALL of them use controllers, and I get smoked by them in terms of K/D. Why? Sure, partially because I am a mediocre or even a noob player compared to them, BUT the issue is in the balancing of Aim Assist. While playing in Multiplayer modes there is no actual difference, or it's just a small gap in our stats. Of course it's due to the play style on one side, but the REAL REASON IS THE TIME TO KILL! In Multiplayer modes there are no plates, this means I need for example 10 bullets to hit the target. A controller player will aim and hit me with probably 90% of fired shot's due to Aim Assist, meanwhile I will have to correct the recoil and adjust to the movement by my self, hitting for example 50% shots in the end, so I need more time to kill the enemy, BUT I can aim faster, which finally causes the game to be quite balanced. The PROBLEM STARTS IN RESURGENCE modes and similar modes. To be exact, all modes where you can us elates. The time to kill gets way longer, and this is why controller players smash M&K gamers. They have to basically aim once, pull the trigger, empty their mag and you're toast, and due to the sticky aim, they can move, jump, lay down during a fight as the aim assist does the job for them. M&K players are handicapped in this moment, bc we have to do 100% of our aiming manually. We have to worry about perfectly matching our movement to our aim, we have to adjust in Split Seconds to the enemy, we have to watch that the muzzle flash does not "hide" the enemy, and we don't notice that he is already gone or on the floor, and this in combination with the longer time to kill due to the plates, bc we miss more shoots, makes M&K just trash compared to controllers. What are the solution? There are a few in my opinion. 1. K/D based aim assist. For controller players it should be around 50-100%. Noobs get 100, mediocre players vary between 60-90, and pros have 50. Meanwhile for PC noob players it should be up to 50% and for pros down to 10%. 2. Smaller recoil for PCs, bc due to Aim assist controllers basically don't really have to care for recoil controll as long it's not really extreeeeem. PC players still would need to aim and adjust all by themselves, but it would be more even if we didn't have to fight all the disadvantages by ourselves. I would love to use rewasd or this stick, but this would again give an advantage to PC players, and it would be the same situation but in the other direction. It should be fair for all, and I think many PC gamers would like to play COD if it would be balanced.

Adjustable aim assist is a thing on most games. It's just available to all, not locked to software to decide how much you get Ttk is a big deal and everyone is always look for the fastest way to drop their opponent. Since guns have recoil that's stronger than aim assist even controller players need to compensate. It's easy enough to do by pulling slightly down while shooting. I find myself rapid tapping the r2 button instead since it can shot faster and work better with aim assist

trying to play fortnite with my kids where I am on mouse sucks......I've got 20+ years of xp on keyboard mouse and can barely contribute to the game. Now at long distance I can hang....up close I am toast every time....even when I get the drop on the player i.e., I'm behind them and they don't know I'm there....I can still get knocked by the unsuspecting player I got the drop on....really annoying. mouse and keyboard isn't made for gaming. guaranteed way to get carpal tunnel. if it was made for gaming it would actually be ergonomic. Also there's a ton of gamers that are disabled that use ReWASD or Steam input to play. Speaking of carpal tunnel this is one if those disabilities. If you have carpal tunnel you're stuck either using a crappy mouse or a controller. ReWASD was great for that. It was wrong for any games to ban it and I hope they get sued for it because many people have claimed it breaks ADA laws.

try to rebind ur inputs on Warframe. personally the slide button was the worst so i put it on q instead of ctrl and it become so much better with just that. tweak it farther if you like to like putting ability or such on extra mouse buttons if you have them. game needs some tweaking with controls but it is so worth it, could never dream of zipping around and still being accurate with my weapons on a controller.

how to configure reWASD to make the mouse smooth? Everything seems to be fine, but at some point the mouse turns into a joystick with aggressive X and Y axes

I pruchased the ax200, so far its not even useful as a paperweight... will not work with ANY mouse I try, and I have over $1000 in mice. Support is non-existent, their discord has been useless, no responce from their "support team" email either. I suppose I could have a defective product, but i doubt it. Oh well, sounded too good to be true so...... TRASH

The same anti cheat software that is built into Blizzard and the Call of Duty games also tries to punish PC players who overclock their hardware. I will get a crash handler popup sometimes and have to reboot my system and then it works. I also get the message that says (we have detected that your CPU or GPU is overclocked) and it will boot me out. It's a hit and miss kind of thing. I feel that ever since they wanted to make all games cross platform, they kind of screwed PC players. We still can compete, but they gimped our systems in a way that's discriminatory in my opinion. This was supposed to be all inclusive, so the top Technicians should fix the issue instead of giving the edge to Console players. Also, its a well known fact that Bill Gates and others tried to squash PC gaming because they have stock in Consoles and didn't like the fact that PC had an advantage, so they tried to screw us, but it failed so they came up with Aim Assist.

The crash handler error means that tour overclock is unstable, plain and simple. Reduce your clocks down, or put up your Vcore (if not already at a safe limit).

@scottc2455 Your right, but you would think if I can run cenebench it should be stable. Just loading the shaders is what will crash it for me. With my 14900KS on a 360mm Radiator I can only run it stable on an all core 5.8 on the P-cores 4.3 on E-cores or just turn them off to game. It's those transient spikes that will burn me while in game at anything higher than 5.8gig. 5.9 will crash. So really I'm running a 13900k or a 14900k in actuality. Sad, but maybe I'll go ahead and watercool later down the road.

Having aim assist on controller is the same thing. Controllers have the advantage right now. But when mouse gets aim assist they have advantage. There’s no way to balance both. Just turn off cross play if you don’t wanna deal with it.
