Excellent video, I have just gotten into modifying controllers and I am doing this kit right now. With the other ones I have done, especially making everythingclicky, it’s amazing how high-quality it feels even as a DIY. It helps that the PlayStation controller is already such a good unit to start with

I would say that this is a simplified version of using the touchpad thanks to the adapter, it is better than soldering the touchpad as it was in the old versions of extremerate or did I misunderstand this point?

I’ve done this and took a couple of hours with soldering. The trigger switch aren’t the best and need to adapt them to get a good click. Was harder than the prev version. The paddles are now old fashion and need improvements also block the charging from the ps5 original charger. The rubber grip is the only thing that it is great. Needs to be improved.

I agree about the back button placement. I didn't really like them before, I wish they had different options for them like Xbox elite or dual sense edge

i don't know what your talking about with your controller is different. i'm setting up PS5 Controllers BDM 010 & BDM 020 and thats almost the same process. it's easy to know which you have without opening > if you hook it up your dualsense to a pc, their website can read out which controller it is.

The connectors are different, I think I went over that. At the end of the day it doesn't matter. It just affects which kit you're going to buy

Ive built 3, working on 4, PS5 controllers with eXtremeRate mods, as long as you take your time these things WILL LAST, 12:00 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put those 4 small little squares of plastic in the controllers I forgot to put them in gave me issues, the ones I remembered to have worked flawlessly from the jump

In terms of performance how do these compare to a Scuf, Battle Beaver, or a Hex controller?

Performance of triggers is the same as the hex phantom. Back button placement has always been my complaint with these kits. It would be so much better if they came down the handle just a little more

Phantom r2 hinge broke from being on instant trigger. Only had for a few day. Doesn't have a reinforcing stop

I've got the old metal rise4 kit but its too heavy compared to my other rollers. Have you tried the plastic versions instead? Are they lighter?

Plastic ones are lighter. I tried those when they first came out. I felt the metal ones seemed more sturdy, but there is no difference to the button feel between the two. Just the weight

Yes actually since when you get stick drift you can just buy another dual sense and put the mod that was on the other controller on to the new one instead of buying a whole other pro controller

I would guess it would void the warranty. Who has used warranty on a dual sense before? Am I missing out?

@@GearsAndTech i did need warranty on a dualsense who had an immediate stickdrift. i don't bother if this can not be charged on the charging dock, there are 2 others on it all the time.
