I think folks have a stigma about SFX PSUs but the current crop from Corsair, CM, etc, are solid. I'm running an 850w unit with a 3080Ti and it works just fine. That said, I'm sure Lian Li will release a Mini v2 with ATX PSU support in the next few months.

Lian Li should just re-release the mini that can support an ATX power supply. The rest can stay the same, if not include an offset bracket for allowing top 360 AIO support without zip ties or a custom mod. I'll skip on the Air mini, missing out on rad support is a no-go.

The Air version of the case is likely made with air cooling in mind and not radiators, hence the changes you had some complaints with.
@MrDvneil
@MrDvneil 3 жыл бұрын
you right. my complains is, Is feet heigh enough for correct gpu airflow?, if you are using tower cooler at cpu, why not rear mesh? to setup rear intake. rear intake and flipped fans on the cpu cooler, prevents reflow. front intake with top mesh, makes most of the air from front to go outside before reaching the cpu. and cpu fans reflowing some of his own warm air. they should have made bottom simetrical to top, same design, and allow to move feet, from "bottom" to "top" so you can rotate the case, and make the gpu intake on top allowing maximum intake for it.
@GalvanisedRed
@GalvanisedRed 3 жыл бұрын
@@MrDvneil you could always use both front/side intakes which would force so much air in that it simply forces air out everywhere, I would also likely not put output on the front top slot.

In some ways this is a great case, because it's small but still "full size" in every way. You can take an ATX case with fullsize PSU and air-cool it, which I think is the most common real-world scenario, with positive airflow and the chimney layout, it's definitely one to be copied. I wish they'd actually go the other way and do a "micro" version of this, where the height is mATX, with SFX-L PSU support, and you can do ITX with watercooling. If you made it 2cm longer than this case it opens everything up even more for RAID + big GPU setups in a very compact chassis.

They should have paid you a consultant fee, royalties and made a MUCH BETTER case -- SERIOUSLY. IMO, two steps forward, then three backward. Beautiful case, though. Sticking with my original PC 011 mini. On a more positive note, I was so hoping you'd do a build with the Gigabyte x570s AERO mobo. 👍🏾 Thank you. I just received mine. *The below CHANGES need to be made,* and the case would STILL be small, but it would be more versatile. *1.* Should have just made it "slightly" LONGER so we can fit 140mm Fans on the side, little more space for graphics card and Front Radiator, as well as 3 140mm Fans for the Bottom and Top. *2.* Should have made it just a "little" TALLER so we can fit radiator at the Bottom or Top with an ATX MB. *3.* Should have made the Hard Drive Bay "removable", and also made more areas in which we can mount drives and/or Controllers.

This guy is spot on I’m building one now and if they would have made it 2cm longer the universe would open up because finally a case maker would have the grail of cases. Li an Li has always been my favorite. Love there cases. But we all want 140’s everywhere they are quieter. Don’t get me wrong it’s the best except for all the rest. Also the front panel was redesigned to make it more flow. He probably doesn’t have the redesigned one if it’s 2 months old video. They just rereleased the case with better front holes.

The only thing I wanted them to do the ONLY thing was to support a 360mm Rad with ATX support. That's what I was waiting on. The length change also makes that impossible. So dissappointed. i think this a micro ATX case with optional ATX support, but not intended to be ATX foremost. Micro boards allow top mounted 280mm AIOs, just not enough for a PP config. Because the front mesh barely allows good views of any RGB fans, I decided to leave them in place while adding twin 140 SLs top and bottom. A nicer AIO would have saved me the cost of the top two SLs, but the EVGA fans aren't worth using. Top AIO (w/mATX) frees up yards of room for any card, but I suppose that's a pretty limited TOP SPEC, but worth considering since CPU heat will never be an issue while trying to expel video card heat from the case. That's the idea anyway, cheers and great stuff man, I love your channel!

Yeah, the ATX PSU being supported is why I will get this. I don't get the 2cm shorter part. Several case manufacturers has this problem. They make a small case that is just a tiny bit too small to what it could have fit an been so much more versatile. I get that you have to limit it at some point, but come on. Design the case, check fitment for regular things see how much is missing to make them fit, then change it if it's just a tiny bit different. Please!

Looks nice... and I love all the improvements. but I still don't understand why they do not just place a "real" external 1x5.25" or 2x 5.25" Slot on the back. That would be much easier and you could buy any kind of "converter", HotSwapCage ect from 3rd parties like ICY/Raidsonic. And would even be able to put in a TapeDrive for Backups. Same with the front: Why not build in a 3.5" or 5.25" Slot or to? It would be so nice to place something like the IB-2260SSK-12G or even an IB-2280SSK on the Back or Front or al that other stuff you still get to mount in a 5.25" Slot. Imagine a Litte TFT as a staus Monitor right there in the Front - like the Lamptron HC060 or some extra USB, Cardreader Combo in the Front. or something like that New Evercool HD-AR-R ARMOR 2x 5.25" Drive Bay to 3x 3.5" There are still endless things you can get for a 5.25" or 3.5" Slot to Mount in - or you can to a lot DYI things very easy. I am using 2.5" HDD Cages for mounting my SATA SSDs even on the inside of my case from preventing them from breaking the connectors by pulling on a cable and make them easy swappable too. I also use a version that has an integrated RAID1 System. I even still use an old DVD Writer to backup some word/excel files and pictures an easy and cheap - and reliable way. Lian Li also used to have a ton of things that you can screw in 3.5 or 5.25". Like that BZ-502B or some Fan controllers So please Lian Li: Just make these rear Slots just 2x 5.25" "External" and Incloud some cheap mounting Adapters for 3.5" and 2.5". And put in at least a single external 5.25 Slot or a 3.5" slot in the front. And please: Give me the chance to get a mesh side panel instead of that stupid glass stuff. Why on earth would they make the case shorter... Lian Li please revise your case. Love the ATX PSU support but to get rid of the 360mm AIO support makes ZERO sense. This case could of been awesome but Meshlicious or NR200P Max it would be for me!

built in this case about a year ago (10900k and 3090 build) and i found the thermals are pretty sick too even with a 240 mil aio (probably due to 8 fans lol)

Glad I watched this before getting mine. Was going to swap my o11 dynamic into one bc of the power supply being able to fit a atx psu but the fact I’d have to buy new fans and a new rad (just got my 360mm aio a couple months ago). I’ll wait for the mini evo or the mini 2. Love the mesh front though.

Nice video! I can't figure out the best fan setup in terms of intake/exhaust. Is your radiator here doing exhaust? which fans are intakes? If anyone in the comments can advise too that'd be great, thanks!!

Hello GS. Does this case support front 240mm radiator, with 280mm radiator on top and 2 140mm fans at the bottom? I saw from the Lian Li site there's no room for front radiator if both top and bottom 280mm radiators are installed, and 40mm thickness max for the front if both top and bottom 240mm radiators are installed. Not sure how's the clearance situation for my case.

Hey Nick, I'm really considering getting this case but I've currently got a 280MM AIO for my CPU and my GPU has a 120MM AIO on it. Do you think I can fit them both at the top/rear? It looks to me like they'll fit if I go tubes down on the GPU AIO on the back, but I can't tell 100% for sure. If I can, I reckon I'm sold on this case. The ATX PSU support is a big win for me too!
@slinkywizard

What sized motherboard? That would be key to fitting the GPU 120 AIO on the rear. Otherwise perhaps you could mount the GPU 120 AIO on the top side position? Would be an interesting build
@Swindy
@Swindy 3 жыл бұрын
@@slinkywizard It's an ITX motherboard at the moment but I'm looking to possibly upgrade to the Gigabyte X570S Aero G to get 4 M.2 SSD's cause of the Direct Storage stuff coming out soon. In my current case, I can only fit my 120 AIO in with a slim fan because the pump housing actually interferes with a 25mm 120 fan. Watching some other angles in other videos, I think it could fit with the slim fan so I think I'm going to pull the trigger when it's available in my country

“Air” in the case name doesn’t imply its for air cooling only, it means the case is airflow optimized, you need airflow for both liquid and regular air coolers, so saying it’s not for liquid cooling is incorrect, the case differs from the regular o11 mini by giving more options for air flow, rather than being a fish tank, hence the name o11 Air mini. So it is valid to criticize the lack of options given in the case to mount radiators as it could have been easily done.

Great vid n insight! I love how u can use a regular PSU which is why i would love to have this case! my only question is that i have a 280 mm rad; would that fit on the front with 120 or 140 mm fans on the side or would there be no room?
@th0r904

280 will fit in front with radiator but your video card size will determine that. The 240 side slot is receded so has no problems hitting 280 front fans

it bothers me that you can see the mounting rails for the back 2 120mm fans. i like that d mini with 2 140 fills that space and looks cleaner. i think the d mini looks better with the 280mm back mouted rad with just 3x120mms up top. i still like it though.

I just got a 3070ti founders...and wanting to vertical mount the card with this case...what are your thoughts based on the airflow of the case, relative to the cards unique fan style ? Would be great if you could do a test, as I have not really seen any tests with the 30 series founders vertical mounting !

If this case was 2CM longer, I wouldn't have bought it. I wanted the smallest ATX case with good features I could get... this is the perfect length tbh. Even shorter could have worked for me tbh.

well, I think Lian-li reduced the length intentionally for the business matter. Because, if the 011 air mini can mount 360 aio, people will by the air mini for 360 aio and ATX psu rather than O11D mini.

I just got my case, and I'm disappointed in the size of it. It doesn't look that chunky in your video, but man, in person I think it is an odd shape (way too wide). I really wish I had gone for something slightly taller and slimmer. I haven't started my build yet as I'm waiting for a LG1700 cooler bracket. Hopefully it will go smooth when I get to that

I agree about them making it unnecessarily shorter. Now can't put 280 rad on the side. If want to keep nice, unrestricted chimney airflow bottom to top for the gpu. Only 280 AIO mounting point is the front. Which in turn means not every gpu will fit. I wish there was a longer version of this case for 3x 140 at the top and bottom as well as 2x140 Side. Either air or glass front. I'm not too bothered

@@th0r904 I'd rather have nice airflow from bottom to the top without a rad blocking it. That side mount is a perfect spot for a rad. No idea why they've changed it to 240 from 280
