I forgot to say the T100 was developped about the dimensions of the biggest tyres avalaibles in the world at this moment. And the weight calculated to not be more excessive than the camel's foot.

Berliet built a couple of very good military trucks. Some of these trucks were so good that instead of selling or parting them, they are being fully rebuilt and updated (like the GBC 8KT).

My favourite French trucks are the Saviem and Berliet, they had a reputation for quality and reliability. The Russians made some big trucks too, mainly for military applications, Ural, and Zil to name a couple. Great video, thank you.😊

Thanks for the vidéo. 1) If Berliet had for logo,it s because of you thé Americans. In the 20's ALCO would make cars and for them Berliet made the best cars to sale in USA. They give 1 000 000 francs gold. To have the licence but before to begin the fabrication ,they stopped the project and let the money to Berliet. To thank ALCO Berliet keep the locomotive for logo. 2) the first T100,was with the Cummins V12 but with 600hp. I saw,young boy,the T100 at services area of Isardrome on the A7 near where his brother worked to build the motorway. It s was impressive. 3) I spoke about Camions Bernard in the vidéo on Mack. There's one at the beginning when the Berliet TBO is in the city.0:56 4) at 0:34 I think the Guy on the T100 is Mister 360° Jean Ragnotti famous rallye pilot. Sorry for my poor english.

Fun fact: the Berliett PR100 bus license was bought by Jelcz from Polish People's Republic in 1972. Various iterations of the Jelcz PR110 (modified PR100) model after many alterations were hugely popular in Polish cities until the end of the 90s

I know someone who has the smaller version, just the tires are as tall as me, he takes it out on a drive once a year and it takes both lane on a two way street, it's a beast but is dwarfed compared to the T100. My dad told me how as a teen he saw the one that toured France tall as a 2 story building, it's a sight he never forgot.

I was born and raised in Cuba(1964), and this brand of trucks were very popular over there, so was the Hino and the Layland, when I was a kid.they took a lot of abuse, but they keep on going like the energizing bunny.

There is actually modern trucks mass produced that is of similar size or at least weight. They are a bit more compact (numbers from wiki page). compare the T100 against a modern A60. Length: 13.3 vs 12.2m Width: 4.9 vs 3.9m Hight: 4.3 vs 3.9m Brute weight: 103 vs 99t net weight: 61 vs 44t payload: 40 vs 55t (according to fresh wiki) Tire size: 2.2 vs 2.1m Engine: V12 30L vs I6 16L Power 600-700 vs 622hp Trans: 4+4 vs 6+2 Speed 45 vs 55km/h Apart from the width, they are really not that far apart

It would be nice to know why it's called a T100 but has a 600 or 700 on the grill.
@BlitzAtao
@BlitzAtao 7 ай бұрын
It's called T100 because it weights a maximum of 100 metric tons fully loaded (60 tons empty, 40 tons of load). 600 and 700 on the grill is the horsepower of the engine, it was 600HP originally then upgraded to 700HP.

4.7 meter high and 5 meters wide.. That is about the same size as the pea harwesters we have here. And yea.. they drive on the road. I got head to head on one of thsoe on a 7 meter road. he was all the way out with the wheels on the other side, and i still had to go half car outside of the roads on my side.
