My mother was this guy's nanny for a while when his kids were young. She was shocked when she heard about him on the news because she had absolutely no idea, not even a hint. He was caught years after my mom had known him. When he got caught and they showed his face on the news, she said she just couldn't believe it. She was in this man's home on a regular basis while he was going away and doing these awful things and had absolutely no idea. My mom's best friend and my childhood pastor also knew another famous murderer. Jeffrey Dahmer. They went to school with him and lived in his neighborhood. He was bullied and considered a weirdo because he kept to himself but never would have thought he would be a murderer. Moral of these stories, these guys aren't wearing scarlet letters. Always be careful because you never know who someone really is or what they are capable of.

Theres a podcast called the clearing and its this guy and ed edwards' daughter April (the one that turned him in) and they do a bunch of research to try and find what other murders he may have committed and try and disprove some rumors out there like him killing Jonbenet Ramsey or the black Dalia murder. It's really really interesting and April tells all about her dad and her childhood and they play some of the tapes that Ed Edwards recorded.

Dam , I listen to Ed Edwards tell how he set Dannie up for breaking into his house , and reminded me of how my psycho/narc father did the same thing to me , he had me watch his house twice , and both times it was broken into , he blamed me for having something to do with it , which I didn't , the second time my cousin told me that my father gave my step brother an ATC ( all terrain cycle) he claimed was stolen. Turns out he gave it away to my step brother , who I never spoke to , reported it stolen , collected the insurance money on it , and blamed me for stealing it. Then it makes me wonder , did my father ever have any insurance policy's on me? I can't say my father was a killer , but he was a very intelligent covert psychopath just like Ed Edwards was , very calculating and devious , at the same time a very interesting , unassuming , and charming man. I watch Ed here , and it's like I'm watching my father , same micro expressions , word usage , dis fluencies , body language , it's uncanny.

In another confession video Edwards says there was cigarettes in the bottom of Danny’s duffel bag and that he shot him in the shoulder as he bent over to search for the cigarettes. In this video he says it was money in the bottom of the duffel bag and he shot him in the chest. Something is off here.

We could start with the fact that his name being deciphered and being in some of the letters is no different than some sleuth claiming that Leigh Allen's name was in one of the ciphers and I don't believe that Arthur Leigh Allen was the Zodiac either. Beyond that I think that the Zodiac was responsible for the murder of Cheri Jo Bates in Riverside 1966 and I thought this for a very long time. Ed Edwards was in prison during that time. I understand people that want to Advocate him as the Zodiac talk about how he looks like the sketch or they talk about his daughter implicating him or him being in California at the time but you guys are completely disregarding the fact that so many other zodiac suspects that have been implicated by family or friends are simply implicated the same way which is why I will not take this Ed Edwards Theory and jump off the cliff. Also the zodiac sat and talked about how he just like to kill people and there was never any evidence that he sexually penetrated any of his victims because he didn't. I'm sure what you're going to say next is that some Killers just get off on the kill alone which is true but apart from insurance money and sexual motivation there's no other motive for him to kill or have it anytime killed any of the zodiac victims. Another thing.. he wanted ultimate notoriety and he admitted that from when he was very young committing his crimes. He also wanted the death penalty and was willing to confess to crimes that would get him the death penalty. Taking those two points into consideration he could have confessed to being zodiac and gotten the death penalty. Maybe not quickly but he would have at the very least been put on death row. That's another thing that convinces me that he was not the zodiac. According to the police officers that drove past the Zodiac the night that he killed Paul Stein the Zodiac had what is called a Widow's Peak haircut and looking at pictures of Ed Edwards at the time he certainly didn't have one. Everything that I'm pointing out is almost common sense. Zodiac almost certainly had a military background Naval and Ed Edwards never was trained encoding or ciphers when he was in the army and he also quickly washed out. With all that being said if he truly was the zodiac he would have confessed to it so he would have gotten moved to California not only for the notoriety but to get put on death row. Everything else is pretty much just wishful thinking.. he was a murderer but he wasn't the zodiac. Also on an endnote I just wanted to say that zodiac gets all this credit for being a criminal genius but he just so happens to get caught on an insurance scam. Also him being implicated as zodiac all started with the detective by the name of Cameron that implicated him in the murder of JonBenet Ramsey and Jimmy Hoffa and the Atlanta child murders and the lipstick killings and The Black Dahlia murder and so on. The only reason his name ever even got brought up is because it was obvious that he didn't commit any of them but the closest thing they could do is say that he looked like the sketch of the zodiac and maybe was in California during that time. You don't take a bunch of shit and throw it at the wall and hope that something sticks. None of the evidence fits him or really any of the zodiac suspects as far as I'm concerned. You need to go with evidence determining theory not theory determining evidence. Ed Edwards is almost no different now than any other person like Richard gaikowski or Earl Van best as far as I'm concerned. None of them are zodiac but there's people that are going to ride or die saying that they believe that they were and nothing will change their minds. I have a feeling that I wouldn't be able to convince you that Edwards wasn't the Zodiac regardless because I think you've invested in it probably a little too heavily but I could be wrong.
