Growing up in Germany in the 50’s and 60’s I was primarily a rock fan. However, soul also accompanied me through my teenage years, and way up there on my fave list was Otis Redding with his soulful voice. I might not have understood all the words then, but there wasn’t any need. It wouldn’t have mattered what language he would sing in, he was able to infuse the meaning right into those notes! It’s amazing how much he accomplished in his short life! These songs are truly timeless. Thank you Karla and family as well as Alex for continuing Otis’ work. Otis wasn’t just a great singer. He was a wonderful and compassionate human being.
