That is a very nice knife!! Very cool of Ben to loan it out! Getting these knives and doing the reviews is a great way to learn about them! Pretty much how I did it!!! Thanks KC!

Nicely done. What a sweet barlow. My favorite pattern. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the knives.

Yeah this is a really cool pattern. A single blade Barlow is one of my favorites for sure. Thanks so much for watching and yeah more to come.

@@KnivesFAST the Barlow was my first knife I got from my Grandfather at the age of 7. Loved the pattern since.

I’m so happy that you’ve gotten to handle these slipjoints! You really can’t get much better than a GEC and if they don’t give you the itch to start collecting traditionals then nothing will! Great review. I hope it inspires some of your other viewers that haven’t strayed from the modern knife realm to check some out.
@KnivesFAST3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. There's definitely a huge difference between this knife and some of the traditionals that I have experienced. And yes I think I got the itch to look out for one but it may take a while and I'm okay with that. Thanks so much

Beautiful clip point. No Barlow's in the collection yet. When I do get one it will be a single blade like this one. Thanks Ben for sending it along! Thanks KC for showing!

Yeah this is a great knife. I love the single blade. And Barlow's are pretty much my favorite traditional pattern. Thanks so much for watching and appreciate you thinking Ben.

It really is nice. And I've been hearing about how hard they are to get. I'm very glad I got to experience it. Thank you

Such a nice Barlow !! I love the patina it’s got going . Those ebony covers are great too !! I hope one day to have a GEC or 5 in the collection . They just keep getting harder to find and more expensive when you do find them . Thanks for the video !! Take care KC

Yeah I hear you. This thing is really nice. I really really enjoyed it. But I hear you about the secondary market. They're pretty pricey for sure. Thank you

A while ago I briefly dipped my toe in the GEC-pond but I quickly realized that unless you dedicate a lot of time (and money) to that specific brand you'll probably end up frustrated, they are hard to get and usually costs a pretty penny. I managed to buy some but sadly a #15 pattern wasn't one of them because to me this is one of the best looking slipjoints ever made! Thanks for sharing KC!

Hey KC, you did great reviewing that knife! I have to say that particular Barlow is one of my grail knives. As a guy who mainly reviews traditional knives I thought you hit it out of the park on that one. Once you get into them you’ll wonder why it took you so long to get there! Have a good one!

Man that is so kind. Being such a great knife, I took the research seriously and bens help was awesome. It's a great one. Thanks

Thanks for the review! That's a great looking knife, but don't have very much experience with slip joints either. I have a nice Case, and a couple cheap slip joints, but for the most part I like the modern folders. Maybe that's why I like Finch 1929 and Holliday so much? They have the classic look, with flipper deployment and frame locks for added safety.
@KnivesFAST3 жыл бұрын
I hear you Andrew. I have very few slip joints and none of them are very good. This is a quality level I've never experienced. When you feel one like this it makes you want one for sure. But you're right Finch is a great option for people that want both. Thanks
